While our food team is resetting, @EORMutualAid has cared for our clients east of the river. This volunteer-run org has made 17,000+ deliveries of groceries, cleaning supplies, diapers, etc. But they need support now; show your appreciation w/ a donation! bit.ly/eormafund

YALL🤦🏾‍♀️ Give it up already! The council had it right the first AND second time they decided to phase out SROs in schools. Reliance of policing for safety is simply ineffective, inefficient and poor policy making that ignores the root causes of violence in our communities.
Vince Gray@VinceGrayWard7

Along with Council members @trayonwhite, @CMBrookePinto and @ChmnMendelson , I co-introduced the "Safe Schools and Students Amendment Act of 2023." If enacted, this legislation halts and repeals the phase-out of our School Resource Officer (SRO) program. lims.dccouncil.gov/Legislation/B2…

Nothing is worse than being the “strong” person. Because of perceived strength ppl can’t see you hurting. People can’t see when you need help. I’ve literally had to bottle up every emotion I’ve felt for at least the past 3 yrs. I have no outlet. I need to cry. I need a hug.

Tonight I’m struggling. Tomorrow I’ll go back to being the “strong” one. Then everyone can be comfortable again. Tomorrow - you’re only a day away.

@LiteraryMouse Been there. Was punched in the face because I asked my ex to get a job because the burden of supporting everyone was overwhelming for me. I was told my feelings were “inconvenient”. When I spoke on the stress of the movement I was told my feelings were unattractive. I’m tired.

Shireen, Harlem's Shuri, In Political Mecca!
Ok. I've shared this and some people have sent this in my back channels. I have a story to tell. She breaks down the white tears really well here. I don't have to explore it further. We all watched those videos of WW just turning them off mid tears. She's right it's diabolical.

Why should African people in the United States frame our experiences in this settler state in terms of “love?” We do it because we’re taught (socialized) to. Public silences about the divergence of Black opinion on this should be deafening. And “we’re here now” ain’t no answer.
