🇸🇪 🫡 The Swedish government has approved another, the 21st, package of military aid for Ukraine, with a total value exceeding €1.2 billion.
The UN Secretary-General @antonioguterres sends a letter extending his “warmest greetings” to the ayatollahs in Tehran as they shoot protesters and execute dissidents. Instead of standing with the Iranian people who are being brutalized in the streets, Guterres chooses to legitimize a regime built on fear, oppression, and terror. The UN under Guterres has embraced the ayatollahs and has turned its back on the Iranian people who are fighting for their freedom. Simply shameful.
Russian forces are increasingly using Starlink satellite systems to extend the range of BM-35 strike drones to conduct mid-range strikes against the Ukrainian rear. The reported 500-kilometer range of Starlink-equipped BM-35 drones places most of Ukraine, all of Moldova, and parts of Poland, Romania, and Lithuania in range of these drones if launched from Russia or occupied Ukraine. ISW has observed reports of Starlink-equipped Shahed long-range strike drones beginning in September 2024 and of Rubikon equipping Molniya strike drones with Starlink systems beginning in December 2025. ISW continues to assess that Russian mid-range strikes, especially those conducted by Rubikon units, seek to exploit Ukraine’s scarcity of air defense systems. The threat of Russian mid-range strikes underscores Ukraine’s urgent need for point-defense air defense systems to down drones, as electronic warfare (EW) systems are likely insufficient to defend Ukraine’s critical infrastructure from such a geographically pervasive threat.
Ukrainian energy workers are doing a titanic job. After every Russian strike, they go back and save the power system again. At -15°C, they drive to destroyed power plants and boiler houses to restore heat and electricity to homes, hospitals, and schools. 1/
