Some two or three days ago, I saw some posts from a certain demography, all targeted at cancelling Tunde Onakoya and I made a post about people's attempt at bullying and cancelling others simply because of the choices they make. The age that I am now is the age where I've come to the stage that I don't have to drop an opinion about every trending online hot gists, so most time now, I simply read a few posts and just waka pass. However, if I have to say something, I do share my thoughts neutrally without quoting anyone or mentioning any name. I often most times personalise my thoughts like I'm talking to myself, hence the reason behind the "Dear Self" posts I make. I'm glad at the way Tunde keeps pressing their necks and I hope he does it for a very long time. For the umpteenth time, no one has the right to cancel you for as long as their validation isn't the oxygen you are breathing in. Congratulations @Tunde_OD The attire is really amazing. Keep on representing the culture.

More reason Yoruba women must detach themselves from twitter feminist group. Because what led to them being a feminist is actually different from your own story. You're entitled to properties in yoruba land as a female. You're not offered corpse water. Etc. So watin dey xup ?
zaynab@iamzaennyy1

You want to denigrate a whole tribe that allows women to lead in war, that allows women to have a say in family matters, that respects women, and is always happy and proud to have baby girls without bias, and that encourages women’s education. I will not allow you to do that.

When is the federal government actually going to invest in manufacturing companies or startups in Nigeria? There is a strong defence need, and even in sectors like the automobile industry, the potential is clear. Imagine if the FG actively backed these industries with real funding and policy support.

Adewale is Yoruba. He’s Obidient. He stood for Peter Obi. He made one satire post, mocking APC defenders of Bola Ahmed Tinubu. They screenshotted it. Misread it. Tagged him APC. Now his sister is kidnapped. And the same people he stood with are celebrating, thinking they’re mocking “the enemy.” His family is crying. He’s begging for her life. But online? It’s cruise. Havertz remains the most misunderstood forward in world football. Havertz suffers from a false dichotomy … people reduce him to whether he delivers big moments, ignoring that he consistently performs in big occasions, and that misunderstanding is what leads to him being underrated but also incorrectly utilised. If you’re building a game plan where he is the ‘killer’ then you’re misguided as he is never ever going to be a reliable finisher but that doesn’t mean he can’t score. What he does give is world class link up play and pressing from the front and in the context of a cohesive unit where goals come from elsewhere ie imagine if he had a Mane and Salah either side of him, he wouldn’t be dunked down upon as he is now. I think Arsenal biggest issue is seeing him as the problem when the recruitment to supplement him has been flawed. Where is the 20-30 goal a season winger to get in behind and be the goalscorer? This is the equivalent of Liverpool putting a Firmino up front and expecting him to yield goals like Haaland despite his overall performance being good.

My youngest sister has been kidnapped 💔! She was kidnapped on Monday, 13 April 2026, on her way to Abuja to report for duties from Ogun State. We have not gotten precise information about where the incident happened. She reached us briefly around 12.am Wednesday, 15 April 2026, that she has been kidnapped since on Monday without details of who kidnapped her, why, and where she is before the phone was taken from her. Now, they have been calling me until this moment demanding N100 million naira. Where do I raise 100 million naira? I can't even raise 100 thousand naira. They are calling me with registered numbers. Our preliminary findings have it that this happened in Kabba, Kogi State, Nigeria. I have been to three different police stations. One in Lagos and the two at Mowe and Redeemed Police stations. The police stations have no tracking system and that since there is no information about location, police said they can't work. I called police national PPRO. He said I should go and report it at the nearest police station after I had already reported. While trying to explain further, he ended the call and did not pick up my calls again until now. She remains in the harsh and harrowing den of the kidnappers until now. I do not want to lose my sister. She is a very young girl who is just starting life. Please rescue her alive, safely, and timely. @PoliceNG @HQNigerianArmy @PoliceNG_CRU @TunjiDisu1 @aleeygiwa @CspIniedu @NigAirForce @KogiPoliceNG @OfficialDSSNG @NuhuRibadu @officialABAT @aonanuga1956 @atiku @Brightgoldenboy @NGRPresident @NigeriaGov @BTOofficial

PRESS STATEMENT FEDERAL MINISTRY OF FINANCE FALSE ALLEGATION OF HIDDEN SPENDING AND DIVERSION OF FEDERATION REVENUE   The attention of the Federal Ministry of Finance has been drawn to recent media reports and commentaries that misrepresent the findings of the latest Nigeria Development Update by the World Bank, particularly claims suggesting that a significant portion of federation earnings is being “diverted” or constitutes “hidden spending".   These interpretations misrepresent the World Bank’s analysis and reflect a misunderstanding of the fiscal system. MISINTERPRETATION OF FAAC DEDUCTIONS   The misreporting in question incorrectly characterises Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) deductions as “waste” or missing funds. This is incorrect.   FAAC deductions, as presented in the World Bank report, include:   Statutory transfers, Savings and investments, Security-related expenditures, Cost-of-collection charges, Refunds to Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), Transfers and interventions benefiting subnational governments.   It is important to emphasise that refunds and transfers to states and other tiers of government are not leakages. They represent legitimate fiscal flows, including repayments of obligations and statutorily backed allocations. SELECTIVE USE OF OUTDATED DATA   Some commentaries selectively relied on past data while ignoring the forward-looking analysis and ongoing public financial management reforms highlighted in the report.   The World Bank explicitly notes that reforms implemented in early 2026, including the recently signed Executive Order to safeguard remittance of petroleum revenues, are already addressing concerns around deductions, and are expected to improve transparency while increasing revenues available to all tiers of government by about 0.4% of GDP annually.   Misinterpreting one aspect of the analysis without acknowledging the progressive reforms and measures already introduced to enhance distributable federation revenues gives a distorted picture. STRONGER MACROECONOMIC FUNDAMENTALS   The broader message of the World Bank report is positive and forward-looking:   Economic growth is becoming more broad-based across sectors. Inflation, while still elevated, is declining due to deliberate policy actions. Nigeria’s external position has strengthened significantly, with improved reserves and a current account surplus. Debt indicators have improved, including a decline in the debt-to-GDP ratio, the first in over a decade.   These developments reflect the outcomes of the current administration's ongoing macroeconomic policies and public financial management reforms. THE REAL MESSAGE OF THE REPORT   The World Bank does not conclude that Nigeria’s fiscal system is collapsing or that reforms have failed. Rather, it states that reforms are working, and they must be sustained and deepened to translate macroeconomic gains into inclusive growth.   CONCLUSION   The Federal Government remains committed to strengthening fiscal transparency, improving revenue mobilisation, ensuring efficient public spending, and deepening reforms to support inclusive economic growth.   An accurate understanding and responsible reporting of fiscal information are critical to maintaining confidence in Nigeria’s reform trajectory and economic outlook.   We urge stakeholders, media organisations, and the public to engage constructively with fiscal information and avoid twisted interpretations that may undermine reform efforts and fuel public discord.   Signed Taiwo Oyedele Honourable Minister of State for Finance, Federal Republic of Nigeria April 19, 2026

It’s a museum ooo for crying out loud, like a public space for art exhibitions where people just pass by and hang out. What’s so special about playing chess in front public facility? Like chess like book anybody can walk into this museum and perform anything which doesn’t make it special in anyway. Imagine me walking into the museum and picking up a book to read, then telling Nigerians “I’m the first Nigerian to read a book at the world most prestigious Lovren Museum in France”. Ah, and Nigerians are everywhere mounting congratulations in the comment section just for sitting in front of museum, wearing Agbada in public space to play chess. This is so lame, no disrespect ooo, but plenty people in Nigeria have lost their sense of value. If this video sends celebration signals to you. 😭😭😭😭

Seen quite a few Arsenal fans celebrate how marginal that game was and that they edged XG… you’re in a title race and you needed a draw and you’ve walked out with a loss. That is nothing to be positive about and I think this ‘softness’ in mentality is holding the club back from making that final jump. The fact the game was so close is a clear indication of how ‘winnable’ that game was. I’ve had msgs saying Arteta did what you asked for … no… there’s a difference between asking for Madueke AND Martinelli on at the same time to catch City on the counter vs having just one flank with genuine wide player. Difference between Rice RCM vs LCM (double up on Doku). Moving Eze into central areas where he can impact game more often than fleeting moments when he has vacated his position. These seem like nit picking but the elite nit pick in games of this magnitude and find the right solutions under pressure. You could see there was an issue with Mosquera and lack of support vs Doku early into the game and this area of the pitch eventually led to their winning goal. If your gameplan relies on Kai Havertz being your main source of goals then that’s not the correct gameplan but if your solution is for him to be a focal point to generate goals for others whilst also offering a goal threat especially in the air than that’s makes more sense. Arteta has shown repeatedly that he’s still not mastered the art of seizing the moment tactically - smelling danger or blood and reacting to it decisively. Times running out and he’s already cocked this up majorly but needs to pray City get too high on confidence and get found out these next few games to let Arsenal get some breathing space again.
