Point-of-care ultrasonography (#POCUS) is a noninvasive bedside imaging modality used to assess intravascular volume status in hospitalized or emergency department patients with possible #VolumeOverload. The message for clinicians is to try incorporating symptom management in clinic. Your expertise is rare The message for researchers is to go beyond seeing the referral or consult as an outcome and evaluate how well the patient is doing

When a patient is intensely symptomatic and, for example, they are not a transplant candidate and the plan is “refer to palliative” 1. What about those symptoms while they wait for a visit? Access can be limited 2. What if the consultant doesn’t know how to manage the symptoms?
