While I’m enjoying #Franklin on @AppleTV, I’ve realized my love of #AmRev history may spoil the inevitable “ah ha” moment coming. Worth it if it means others will gain appreciation for Beaumarchais, Lafayette, etc., at long last!

Was reading a bunch of reviews today (not mine) and most of what I read was really book summaries, not reviews. I don't want you to tell me what the book was about, I want you tell me what you thought about it!

@SalinaBBaker I just watched Ep 1 tonight and am loving the character and plot exposition. Plus that music and cinematography!

My husband made me watch the first two episodes of Shogun on FX last night (recorded). He's half Japanese, read the book several times, and saw the movie with Richard Chamberlain so he gets a pass. I had trouble seeing the yellow subtitles so I was a bit lost. But he loved it.

#OTD in 1776, under the cover of night, Washington and his troops crossed the #DelawareRiver to capture the Hessian garrison at Trenton. The dramatic event was memorialized 75 years later in a painting by German-born American artist Emanuel Leutze.

It’s the 250th anniversary of the Boston Tea Party! On my recent trip to Williamsburg, I met a printer who shared a song written soon after the event and he just happened to be printing the page announcing details of the Tea Act - what luck!
