Every month this year, I intend to give away a full class set of one book via @ANewChapterBks - I truly believe a full class set is one of the most valuable resources a teacher can have when teaching reading. No faff to enter, just retweet and consider yourself in. January.

@Drotek_Sarah hello, not sure if you can help me. Am a beginner! Am finding the detector gives a single beep but then can't find it again. Also, if I do get a signal (iron turned off) all I seem to find is iron! Giving inconsistent signals with my rose-gold ring. Is it me?!

@TeachRepeat Hmm it's always hard to tell from photos, but yes - probably just pleasingly round stones. Flints can develop like that. It's important to know what the geology is where you found them. Try @GeoOutreach or @GeolAssoc!

@DarrellWakelam I think I agree with you, if I understand your comment as a knee joint from a cave man 🙌

@TeachRepeat To my non-expert eye I’m afraid I think it’s just flint/chert which forms in very odd ‘organic’ looking lumps. Check elsewhere though, I’ve been wrong before 😅👍
