Fire Paramedic John Garza passed away this morning due to an ongoing battle with cancer. He was a 20-year veteran of Tempe Fire Medical Rescue. His last assignment was on Engine 273 at Station 3. Read more about John and his life here: mailchi.mp/tempe/tempe-fi…

Tempe Fire Medical Rescue just added new heart monitors to every firetruck and ambulance. They help paramedics see more, act faster and send real-time data to hospitals. One more way we’re working to save lives.

This morning, a fire broke out at the Tempe compost yard at Priest Drive and Rio Salado Parkway. Thank you to Phoenix Fire, Scottsdale Fire and Municipal Utilities for assisting us. There is no green waste disposal today at this facility because of the fire.
