Every nation should treat billionaires like a natural resource and mine them of their riches until exhausted, just like a nice thick seam of coal or a reservoir of oil, then make the spoils available to the nation's citizens. If they crop up again, mine them again.

@ReemAmirIbrahim The two are not in tension. Obviously the triple lock is a disgusting joke. Obviously the welfare socialism rewarding joblessness is immoral.

Britain must either allow mass immigration or abolish the state pension. Immigration is plummeting into the net negatives. 25% of working-age Brits don't work. Fertility has collapsed, and the state pension is soaring. So, which do you pick?

No one is arguing that billionaires don’t already pay lots of tax. We’re arguing that they have vastly too much money which should be in the hands of the workers, who would then be paying tax.

@BladeoftheS Total lies. Those industries were chronically inefficient and hobbled by strikes and unions. This is just invented socialist bollocks.

Until 1979 when Margaret Thatcher took over, Water, Energy, Rail and Mail were some of the cheapest and best run services in the entire world. Then suddenly she said we can't afford them because she wanted to privatise them and they began to fail. What a strange coincidence.

@Tenaciter @anon_opin So if Reform get in, they'll remove your workers and human rights, minimum wage, defund the NHS, raise the pension age and tell you it's alright, because the boat people.

We need a "working class history month". Remind people just where so many of our hard-fought rights come from and why those in power are so hell-bent on convincing so many people that minorities are the problem.

Betting shops should only be allowed in areas where the median income is north of £80k. Any less than that and they are preying on people who can't afford to lose hundreds every month.

The people with the irrational hatred of immigration are the same people with an irrational hatred of cyclists. They are a group who are susceptible to easy manipulation & behavioural control by narratives based on propaganda. This is exploited by capitalists for their own agenda

@scottsantens You always waftily quote these fictional "UBI studies" to support anything you wish to claim about them. There have been very few with highly limited scope and they do not support the conclusions you claim.

We already have a system of non-universal basic income. It’s called "having wealthy parents." UBI just democratizes that privilege so everyone has the same base-level security to pursue their potential. It's no coincidence that entrepreneurs tend to come from wealthy families.

Total idiocy. We're at 54 latitude. Solar is simply inefficient here. Yet another barrier to building and extracting wealth from people to fund this net zero messianic folly. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…
