Tesla self-driving is incredible
Sawyer Merritt@SawyerMerritt

Review of @Tesla FSD (Supervised) in the WSJ: "Driving has always felt like a chore to me. The first time I let the vehicle (Model Y) take control, something shifted. As the car guided itself through traffic, I felt tension melt away. A few days before the federal EV tax credit expired in September, I traded in my 7.5 year-old Model 3 for a Model Y with FSD. For someone like me, who likes to stay in control, surrender has never come easily. Yet here I was, cruising through traffic in quiet surrender to the car’s code and sensors. It felt like liberation. And now I have something better than a chauffeur. My car never tires, panics or wavers; it doesn’t jolt at brake lights or grumble at traffic jams. It simply drives, with quiet confidence and near-perfect composure. People often worry that technology makes us lazy. Maybe it does. But in my case, it has done something subtler: It taught me to trust in the rhythm of the ride. It’s a small miracle I never expected from a car."

Money markets paid today. Still blows me away every single month. Roughly $3,300 across all accounts. Used to work 160 hours a month for this. Now it just appears at the end of every month.

I am actually the lead and corresponding author on the most cited research paper of this person's career. Someone told me that today, and I verified it. The claim that her work has had any substantial effect on breast cancer is a dramatic overstatement. Like much of what’s being presented in this 60 Minutes segment, it’s a PR narrative designed to grab money. It’s dishonesty from these institutions about what technology from the life sciences can actually do—and it says more about the way universities grift the public for sympathy and funding than anything about science itself.
60 Minutes@60Minutes

Harvard researcher Joan Brugge says her work has the potential to prevent breast cancer, but she was notified last spring that her federal funding was terminated. “It was just like a gut punch. My knees buckled, and I had to sit down,” she says.

You are a taker, not a maker. All you’ve done your whole life is take from the makers of the world. The zero-sum mindset you have is at the root of so much evil. Once you realize that civilization is not zero-sum and that it is about making far more than one consumes, then it becomes obvious that the path to prosperity for all is just let the makers make. Regarding Tesla, the reality is that I have been given nothing. However, if I lead Tesla to become the most valuable company in the world by far and it stays that way for 5 years, shareholders voted to award me 12% of what is built. Anyone who wants to come along for the ride can buy Tesla stock. If Tesla “merely” becomes a $1.999 trillion dollar company, I get nothing. This is a great deal for shareholders, which is why they voted so overwhelmingly to approve this, for which I am immensely grateful. And they did so by a margin far more than you won your political seat.

@wholemars SJC is seriously the best airport. So efficient and forward thinking. Their shuttle busses are also EVs. Hopefully this applies some pressure to SFO to follow suit since that's where the majority of my flights go out of and taking a Robotaxi there would be fantastic
