Brendan Tobin is TIRED of the media saying Giannis Antetokounmpo won’t contend with the Miami Heat: “Now Tyler Herro is gone from a guy nobody wants to now everybody saying he’s more reliable…but everybody wants to say ‘what’s Giannis going there for?’ Let’s be clear about something here — Miami at their laziest can surround Giannis Antetokounmpo with 3 All-Stars….you think about the defensive potential that’s on those 3 spots with Giannis-Bam-Wiggins. Then you go to the 2 spot — Norman Powell also by my count an All-Star this year…then you have Davion Mitchell who’s a tremendous defender…he’s called off-night for a reason…you’re acting like this guy’s coming here to play with the Sioux Falls f*cking Skyforce…” (via @Brendan_Tobin YT)

Why does Giannis want to leave Milwaukee for Miami? I’d argue a starting lineup of Rollins, Green, 10th pick, Giannis, and Turner is way better than whatever Miami can put out

Friendly reminder that Sam Reinhart Aleksander Barkov Seth Jones Niko Mikkola Anton Lundell Aaron Ekblad Brad Marchand Sam Bennett Gustav Forsling Carter Verhaeghe and Matthew Tkachuk are all signed until at least 2030

He hasn’t, but also no one on the Canes have been at Bobrovsky/Barkov 2024 level. The gap is similar. Again I’d vote for a Canes player assuming they win tonight and Marner doesn’t have like a hat trick, but it’s not a ridiculous take to say Marner is the overall playoff MVP.
