@WorldWideWob I agree with this take. New to hockey since we just got a team in Utah. The experience in the Arena is incredible and far superior then the NBA in my opinion. Its really easy to follow the puck and see the shots in person. On TV I struggle following the puck and prefer NBA.

I enjoy watching hockey, but this sport will never gain the mainstream popularity it so desperately desires when people watching on TV cant see/tell when the teams score.

I’m gonna say the quiet part out loud. The 2026 NHL Playoffs are sort of a dud. Nine series completed—one game 7 and three sweeps. There are some awesome series (Habs v Buf) big too many non-competitive ones, little fighting, drama is down, etc. Love seeing the high TV ratings, and it is still early, but this year’s playoffs feel soft.
