Kurt Russell spoke about Tombstone this week, saying “The movie is not as good as the screenplay….I’ll never make peace with that. It could have been way better.” I trust Russell knows what he’s talking about here…but man, I think Tombstone is pretty close to perfect as is.

💀🦇 20 years ago today: Avenged Sevenfold released the single "Beast and the Harlot."

That’s actually what grew on me with this album. I always loved how all their songs are so elaborate that each one is like 2-3 in 1 (except for Hail album which is super tight as you say — btw, Planets and Shepherd of Fire my faves on that 🤘🏻), and I started listening to the Stage while working out and stuff where it’s more background … then I found myself coming back to it. Plus it’s a concept album about AI 10yrs ago, way before GPT, etc which is also pretty fkn cool to me.

@TheBasisPoint @Revolvermag The Stage was ok but some of the songs were just way too long. I like a tight 3 minutes.

After this conversation, I've become considerably less worried about AI doom. It's possible that with AI help, humanity reaches a previously unimaginable level of wealth and stability (after 200 years of chaos and destruction, which is basically nothing in the grand scheme).

@QtrRobt @Revolvermag Dude you should give The Stage another chance. It took awhile to grow on me, but it’s turned out to be a very deep album for me.

@Revolvermag I wish they'd make good albums again. They haven't been good since Hail to the King.
