UPDATE:
Turo has access to the photos showing damage to our Tesla. These photos were uploaded to the trip that started less than 24hrs after the trip where damage occurred ended.
I spoke to Turo Power Host support via chat and the representative view the meta data and confirmed these photos were valid.
I’ve passed the transcript of the conversation to Turo claims (included in reply email to the email I received this morning shown below) and look forward to hearing their response.

Once again, the Turo saga continues… The Turo representatives are now claiming that they cannot view the “meta data” from the photos uploaded in order to determine that the damage occurred within the timeframe to qualify for protection. The trip where the damaged occurred was from the same guest who racked up nearly every fee in the books, to include tickets for speeding and for driving past a stopped school bus (and almost hitting a kid). Search my posts to read about that one. Unfortunately( The damage was missed by my co-host during our post trip closeout, likely because he was focusing on the quick turnaround for the next trip (within 24hrs of when the Tesla got back from this trip) and deodorizing after the egregious smoking violation. Fortunately, the damage was captured in the pre-trip photos for the following trip. These photos were taken and uploaded within the required time to suffice as the post-trip photos for the trip where the damage occurred. However, Turo is now claiming that the photos we uploaded to the follow-on trip do not have the “meta data” available so they are stating the photos do not qualify. Remember, Turo initially honored this repair so I had the damage fixed. The body shop submitted a supplement for the extra cost of the repair compared to their initial estimate. I will continue to fight this.

Once they have Find My and FaceTime it’ll be time to switch.
I have a Tesla and regularly FaceTime my grandma who has the exact same car (I talked her into it and it’s insane not to consider due to FSD, gave her at least a few more years of independence) and walk her through how to do things.
While we could use Facebook video or any other video call service, it’s just not native enough.

everyone with "but the eco system" pls check in to 2025. Cloud service options are plenty and at this point work across devices seemlessly (with the exception for Apple's walled garden). My pixel headphones switch seamlessly between my MacBook and my Pixel and have done so for years. Also the AI assistant on Pixel actually works.
I meant the original post as a tongue in cheek comment but surprised people actually think apple eco system is a moat. It's more like Stockholm syndrome.
