@Tanner_H_Jones If Justinian can bring any two departments together and increase efficiency, @elonmusk and @DOGE should fast track this wherever they can

78,600 miles of rivers, 40,000 acres of prairie, 145 million barrels of oil each year, 4,000 wild bison, and an average of 62 tornadoes annually.
These are some of the figures that define the environment of Oklahoma.
And imbued with powers by both state and federal law, the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality (OKDEQ) is responsible for stewarding this environment, protecting Oklahoma's waters, lands, and the quality of its air.
Consequently, I am incredibly proud to announce that OKDEQ is @vulcantechteam’s newest partner and, over the next days and weeks, we will bring Justinian to key leaders across the department.
OKDEQ operates in one of the most complicated regulatory landscapes in the country, involving federal mandates, delegation agreements, and autonomous tribal lands. Across this nuanced legal terrain, DEQ manages among the most important permits in Oklahoma — air, land, water, and solid waste. In addition, OKDEQ ensures compliance with state and federal rules, and monitors and projects the state's air quality.
For all of the above crucial workflows — and many more — Justinian will work across the Department in pursuit of Vulcan Gov's mission: empower America’s civil servants doing the most important government work, strengthening our social contract.
We started talking to the OKDEQ team almost a year ago during the @ycombinator batch, and were impressed by their vision, ambition, and willingness to experiment with new technology and think outside the box.
Over the last several months during our pilot, as Nathaniel Branscum and Danny McFadden lived in OKC, and deployed inside DEQ headquarters, it became obvious that ours would be a fruitful partnership. And we appreciated OKDEQ’s patience as we slowly learned — untangling the morass of environmental law, policy, and permits — to architect a secure and reliable instance of Justinian, suited for OKDEQ's nuanced needs.
In particular, we are grateful for the leadership and partnership of Secretary Jeff Starling, Executive Director Robert Singletary, and Deputy Executive Director Madison B. Miller.
As part of these efforts, we are also excited to partner with Recoding America Fund and Reeve Bull, who will help use OKDEQ as a case-study to illustrate the promise of AI — AI done right, not a general purpose LLM off the shelf — in state government.
OKDEQ is already a national leader and we are optimistic that this partnership will take us both further, unlocking new efficiencies in permitting, enforcement, and regulation.

@vulcantechteam Cool, would this be a good tool for in house counsel?

Justinian 2.1.5 is live with a 157 BILLION records of law and policy. (Sorry about the AI slop video, we've been too busy building the database)
The world's largest and fastest growing legal knowledge graph means the world's smartest legal agent. Every row was scraped directly from the primary source and automatically updates via millions of agentic scrapers every 30 minutes. No third parties or rate limits stand between Justinian and the law itself.
Here's everything Justinian now navigates:

PLUS: BTS transportation, FMCSA carrier safety, NHTSA recalls and crashes, EPA SDWA water systems, USDA SNAP, IRS 990 nonprofit filings, CFPB consumer complaints, NLRB labor cases, EEOC charges, FBI UCR, ATF licensee data, NIH RePORTER, DEA registrants, HUD housing, FAA airports, FTA transit, NAIC insurance, BLS labor markets, EIA energy facilities, VA veterans facilities, federal infrastructure approvals, NRCS easements, Census ACS, and more.
Every layer of American law, every adjacent regulatory dataset, one agent.
Every other legal AI queries someone else's database through an API. Justinian reads the corpus directly — because we built the corpus.
