@s23amourai @f4micom Don’t like to make predictions but I can confidently say this is never happening. Apple already has a not-quite-Mac platform with iPadOS. Only thing in macOS that is going to get similar to iPadOS is (very limited) touch support later this year.

@f4micom Neo is the trap to get people onto macOS. I bet the next OS version will have a Pro mode with the current features and a normal(dumb) mode with the Files app from iPhone instead of Finder, and only the App Store for software.

my predictions on the the macbook neo: - test product meant to work as a parts bin special like the porsche 924 was a VW parts bin special - will only get upgrades based on previous year’s iphones parts, expect 12GB ram next year - will only get thunderbolt or 2x usb3 if iphone pro gets it - meant to attract zoomers (hello) with limited disposable income - meant to be the educational market crown jewel - will get new colours every year to keep interest fresh for those same zoomers (hello) - will be sold alongside the mac mini as the cheap starter pack mac to get people in the apple computer ecosystem

The Microsoft Surface Laptop 7 is still the best laptop you can buy for $999. Nothing even comes close.

@app_settings Would’ve loved to see this phone. Basically an iPhone 16 Pro with more components relocated to the plateau and a bigger battery. Don’t know how it would perform thermally with the A19 Pro though.
