I am fiercely pro LEO & spent a career as a cop then retired & became a trauma critical care nurse practitioner. IF this story is legit,this cop is a f#cking idiot. Imagine sitting on the stand. “Your honor my wife died during labor from an amniotic fluid embolism” or “my son died because the cord was wrapped around his neck” then being the officer “but your honor he was speeding 65 in a 60!” There is a simple way to fix this. I have advocated my whole career every US police officer must complete, pass, license & maintain at least an EMT-Basic throughout their career. It’s a standard for most professional firefighters. It should be a standard for most professional cops.
