Ausschliesslich! Bei Zuwiderhandlung setzt es was!

In 2007, the standards of living in the United States and Western Europe were similar, and most people don’t realize how much things have diverged since the US boomed after the global financial crisis and Europe didn’t. They don’t fully understand how we’re living and we don’t fully understand how they’re living; even when we visit Europe as tourists, we don’t see their tiny, sad flats and their depressing grocery stores. That is why Europeans visiting for the World Cup are going to, like, a Waffle House or a Taco Bell and losing their minds. Stuff we don’t even like or care about is wildly superior to everything everywhere else. We have no idea how rich we are.
Fox News@FoxNews

World Cup tourists fall in love with middle America — raving about Waffle House at 1 a.m., Buc-ee's gas stations, and strangers driving them to stadiums in the rain. Oxford Economics expects 1.24 million international visitors for the tournament, and their viral posts are showcasing a side of the country most foreign media never covers.

Very cool haplogroup data but we know from isotope testing that Otzi did not grow up in a Horgen culture area (unless the culture extended further than we know). His material culture (his belongings) has links to both the northern and southern cultures of the Alps. The arrowheads he carried (including the one in his subclavian artery) had affinities for both northern and southern styles and techniques. His copper axe was from south of the Alps, and there were copper working societies like Remedello on his doorstop. Otzi's childhood valley has been matched by isotope testing. But no trace of habitation or material culture from this era has been found in that valley (or in many others in the region). His material culture seems to link him to both the north and south of the Alps. Interestingly, his body was found right on the watershed between the north and the south. Considering his mixed north/south material culture, this led some to believe his body was left there deliberately on "the border" as a warning to one side or the other. Perhaps he was from a mixed population with affinities to both the north and the south?

This also sheds light on the origins of Ötzi the Iceman, a famous prehistoric ice-mummy from Austria. DNA Testing revealed that Ötzi belonged to the Haplogroup G-L166. This Haplogroup is not found as dominant in many of the cultures contemporary to Ötzis life, except for the Horgen Culture in Switzerland, which is completely Dominated by G-PF3148, which is ancestral to Ötzis G-L166. Furthermore, 7 of the 10 samples from the Horgen Culture are of Ötzis clade, G-L166. Archaeological evidence also lines up, as Ötzi also carried Stone Tools developed by the Horgen Culture. Therefore we can say confidently that Ötzi was a individual from the Swiss Neolithic Horgen Culture, possibly as a trader, a scout or a retreating raider, since Ötzi is largely outside the Horgen cultures area and was assailed by locals and died to the wounds they inflicted.

What goes on in here? In the past, almost literally nothing. This area of Germany has almost no recorded settlemenst throughout the Neolithic to the Iron Age. Depicted are sites of the: -1: Michelsberg and Wartberg cultures (collectively covering 4500-2800bc) -2: Corded Ware culture (3000-2200bc) -3: Bell Beaker Culture (2600-2200bc) -4: West Germanic Tribes (RWG Culture) (0ad-350ad) This area was incredibly forested during prehistory and hard to access due to how hilly it is, as well as being surrounded by the Fulda Lowlands, the fertile Rhine valley and the Lippe Basin, which are all very attractive population sinks.

Credit photo : @largo_photographe
