A couple weeks ago in the Modern Showcase I faced a very toxic player, “eneges,” who acted extremely hostile. Today I faced him again and the behavior was even worse, including threats. Hope @MagicOnline takes action this time to keep the community healthy.

„Never my intention” 😂😂😂 after getting caught vampiric tutor shuffle cheating three separate times on coverage. I wish MTG would be harder on cheaters. Year long ban for behaviour this egregious is way too soft.

@MTGO_Economics Yikessss that really sucks, Idk how I’d feel with one of my friends who I look up to would be caught cheating. I really do believe cheating should be punished in the worst ways possible, as you said, I can’t even imagine the punishment of cheating in a Dota/League tournament.

@The_Arglex This was a guy I respected, so I felt really bad making a false accusation. A year or so later, he was caught cheating and got a 3-year ban. I reflected on that, & considered that that night,he was just practicing double draws against me. He didn't care about the FNM, he's smart.

Bad take. It won’t reduce cheaters, maybe not like this but you will be able to share screen and play with others assisting you or just have a 3rd party app helping you out. Wizards needs to take care of the judge program and punishment needs to be a lot harder on cheaters.

Just another example of why, eventually, the best course of action is to make competitive play strictly digital. It simply has never been fair to expect players to divide their attention between making the best plays and avoiding getting cheated. #mtg #magicthegathering #mtgo

@MTGO_Economics I respect he had the dignity to concede and ofc FNM is more casual judging and the judge should be more concerned with mistakes, missing triggers and stuff like that more than cheating but the experience still feels yikes of course…

@The_Arglex One time, years ago at an FNM, I had a really strong player try to double draw against me. I asked about it and we called a judge, but it got confusing with all the card draw that already happened. Strangely, even though the judge said nothing funny happened, he conceded to me.

@MTGO_Economics That sucks, I was lucky enough to be taught Magic by really great and experienced players who taught me to always call a judge if you feel even the slightest thing.

@The_Arglex I did not, which was my fault. But they said they misunderstood the question, so there's a fair chance that nothing would have come of it. More than this, it's not my first encounter with cheating. I've seen everything from extra sideboards to hidden cards (in locals). 1/2

@The_Arglex I agree with that, my comment is in the overall impossibility of it, practically speaking. Not even talking about the obvious things. One time at an SCG invitational, I had to draw vs an opp because I saw they were tapped out and asked, but turned out they had a land hidden 1/2

@MTGO_Economics That’s a lot better, there used to be Hearthstone tournaments like that but still I think we shouldn’t allow losers who want to cheat take away our fun of playing cards, personally I enjoy playing IRL cards a lot more.

@The_Arglex Naturally, the event will still be in-person. Like Dota/CS tournaments. Also like I said, I know it's unlikely to happen (logistically, it's a nightmare and viewership is a problem). But it 100% will reduce cheating.

That's the funniest salt I've ever gotten, Storm vs Tron, I played Trinisphere turn 3 (on the draw, he kept a bad 7) on game one, and on game 2 dropped Trinisphere on turn 2. Also, I am pretty sure I've seen that name in #mtgsalt sometime XD
