@DomIzzoWDAY That’s a long time to spend in Sioux Falks with not a lot of fun things to do. Having lived there for a couple years and attended the Summit tourney I can attest, 6 days in Sioux Falls is not the same as many other places the football team goes.

@DomIzzoWDAY On top of that aspect many fans treat NDSU away football games as mini vacations. Sioux Falls isn’t going to move the needle for fans as a vacation spot like say a Nashville would. Especially when the games are Thursday-Saturday-Monday or something of that nature.

@DomIzzoWDAY Gotta respectfully disagree here. While playoff football games are occurring I’m sure NDSU attendance at home is fine. But I’d argue that the road attendance is most likely way down from the norm. During the Dakota bowl I’d also argue NDSU road attendance is minimal.

North Dakota State University’s deal to join the Mountain West Conference as a football-only member next season includes a general commitment to maintain a level of football spending “reasonably comparable to” the league average. However, if NDSU struggles on the field, it will have to increase its football expenditures the following season to match or exceed the average of its new Mountain West peers. Insiders across Fargo tell me Falling attendance and a Strength coach who lost his swing was the reason for this move. NDSU is trying anything to be relevant as the community of Fargo has started to abandon this once prestige program. No doubt they're the 2nd best program in ND!

The deal is set to be announced on Monday. NDSU’s move is only for football and will give the Mountain West 10 football teams for 2026. NDSU has won 10 of the last 15 FCS football championships.

@CollegeFBonX FCS already has given FBS the blueprint. 24 team playoffs. All conference winners get in. Seed 1-16 and top 8 get a bye. It’s simple yet effective and inclusive.
