Think about how intense hatred for Trump must be for Dems to be +11 when other polls show that the Dem brand is still in a toilet. Voters don't like the Dems. They just really, really want to show Trump they hate what he's doing, and voting for his opponents is the only option.

George W. Bush left office with a 32% approval rating. That was enough to cost Republicans two Prez elections, but more importantly left the party so weak that Trump was able to hijack it and turn it into something completely different. I want to see Trump at 32%. The Bush line.

@jrl_josh @IAPolls2022 @QuinnipiacPoll Maybe pay attention to, you know, all the special elections since the moron took office again? 30 special elections flipped to blue. But play pretend with the polls, it will really work in your favor when midterms confuse the shit out of you…

@IAPolls2022 @QuinnipiacPoll Quinnipiac is one of the worst pollsters known to man, so I don’t trust much of anything that they produce.

President Trump, who is in the midst of pressuring senators to curb the use of mail-in voting, voted by mail ballot in Tuesday’s special election in Palm Beach County, Florida. wapo.st/47fVUwf

I only toss it when it is warranted...like with Doug. I reserve that for "special people". I have said from the beginning if there is not a course change, Republicans and Independents will turn. THAT is not TDS. TDS is finding fault with every single fricken thing he does...even if it makes more sense than the alternative. I am unhappy with Trump and what he is doing overall. I totally get why Independents would vote against him. I know you seem to think I "dismiss" Trump's erratic behavior and his incomprehensible posts (like The Robert Mueller post). I don't. I know he's an ass. I know he is a narcissistic, egomaniac who seeks love and attention above all else. I know when he doesn't get it, he goes on tantrums. I get all of it. I am just able to separate that knowledge from every individual action and decisions he makes about things.

MAGA aren’t drawn to Trump because he is smart, competent, or “Christian”. They are drawn to him because he tells uneducated, insecure, angry people that their stupidity, ignorance, and racism are actually strengths.

@chriswithans You’re going to have a field day over midterms getting your ass handed to you, but keep coping. It’s fun to read.

The other seat looks like a ~13 point shift Left. Democrats will appreciate the flip but that's still short of the 15-16 point shifts on net that they enjoyed in those two Florida U.S. House specials way back in April of 2025. This seat below had 77,000+ votes in 2022, a midterm year. So it's not like Democrats are flooding the polls in response to Iran or gas or anything.

So it's an ~8 point shift left in a state senate district that has no consequence to the balance of power. That's seemingly better for Republicans than any Florida election so far this cycle I think, I much better than many other specials across the country. Main takeaway from this IMHO, if it matters at all, is that Iran either reset the environment back to standard midterm vibes or scrambled it in a way that it's unchanged.

Would obviously much, much rather be Nathan right now. Hard to see this flipping with only 4 ED precincts and a couple hundred mail-in vote left. Not over until @VoteHub calls it though.

Democrat Emily Gregory will now be Trump’s state representative in FL after she flipped a district Trump won by 11 points in 2024. She defeated Trump-endorsed Jon Maples.

I guess all the people claiming Biden had dementia are just going to stay silent about the fact that trump is having imaginary conversations with Iranian officials who give him elaborate gifts.
