@sahadevsharma@NSideTerritory Who is the Cubs player that offers the greatest upside in a new role this season? For example - Brown or Rea in the bullpen. Shaw as a super utility player.
@sahadevsharma@NSideTerritory@FoulTerritoryTV@PJ_Mooney The last couple offseasons Jed completes a risky or splashy move like Counsell and then Tucker. After which Jed seems to need a fainting couch for the rest of the offseason. What will this offseason’s “risky/splashy” move be?
@jon_greenberg Family of four at Wrigley this summer… plus a beer or two - that shit adds up. They have the revenue. They are choosing not to use it. Ricketts wants full buy in from everyone but the business side.
I wrote this story at Hotel Zachary, the boutique hotel across the street from Wrigley. The lobby restaurant doesn't serve lunch (?), so we got food from the deli downstairs and I ate a $20 (!) turkey sandwich that, frankly, was kind of bad. At least the coffee was free.
@sahadevsharma They have one advantage over the Brewers every season, and they refuse to use it - payroll. That’s the story of this entire season. Obvious holes in the lineup and with the starting pitching while they dumped the Bellinger salary.
Milwaukee won Game 1 with the Brewers brand of baseball. They then took Game 2 by doing what the Cubs do best. Now the Cubs are on the brink of another offseason trying to figure out how to catch up with the division rivals. nytimes.com/athletic/66959…
The sad fact is, if Tyler Robinson had used his gun to massacre students at Utah Valley University instead of just fatally shooting Charlie Kirk Republicans wouldn't care this much.
@sahadevsharma@NSideTerritory Dearest Sahadev, Nico and Dansby played through injury last season - now the calf strain with Tucker after the finger fiasco. Are the Cubs unique (cause it feels like they are) in struggling to settle on a strategy for injured players.
@sahadevsharma@PJ_Mooney@FoulTerritoryTV Fine, Sahdev was correct about Happ (for now), and here’s my question: what did the 2025 Cubs get out of the Bellinger trade? A one year contract for Scherzer or Verlander or David Robertson would look great right now. Was that money ever going to be spent in ‘25?

@sahadevsharma@PJ_Mooney@FoulTerritoryTV Why is Owen Caissie with the team right now if not to give a breather to hitters, especially Seiya and Happ, (no Sahadev, don’t tell me how well Happ has looked lately). Those two players are clearly struggling and have been for a while.

I didn't think Carter's 2032 comment was that big of a deal. Unless you think Cubs should trade LITERALLY EVERY SINGLE PROSPECT for one (1) partial 2025 upgrade, then you agree with him: the future does also matter. The only debate is degree.
@PJ_Mooney@FoulTerritoryTV@sahadevsharma The bench pieces (Berti, Brujan, Kelly and Turner) seem to be performing better (so far) than in years past. How much input did Counsell have in the offseason with regard to Free Agent or trade acquisitions?

@PJ_Mooney@sahadevsharma@FoulTerritoryTV What is the plan for 2B and 3B should both Nico and Shaw are unavailable for the Japan series? Workman? Turner? Triantos?
@VanLathan@charlesxholmes@JomiAdeniran I have two daughters I have futilely begged to watch Star Wars for years. Skeleton Crew is the first show they have wanted to watch. They want a season 2. This is a show for the kids of the originals fans. It’s not for us.
