@EmpireCityBO They sucked the life out of it with the coarse / gross stuff that was popular for a period & shifted to streamers. when the J-Law one tanked that was it. if they made a new MARY it’d make kajillions. If ANYONE BUT YOU can make what it did, The sky’s the limit for a great comedy

We desperately need studios to take chances on theatrical comedy. They are the natural cousins to horror. Cheap to make, and if it hits you make a gazillion dollars. They used to be the backbone of theatrical. People are ready for them to come back and laugh with a crowd again.

What SICKENS me about Hollywood is that in my youth, a show like Reacher would be cranking out 26 episodes a year, a new series landing every September like clockwork. We should be waiting for episode 68 to drop. There should be three Christmas episodes by now.

@EmpireCityBO @netflix Retitling of films are going to be a major thing in the streaming future much like they were by sneaky distribs in the 70s/80s.

It makes me chuckle when I log into @netflix and look at their Top 10 movies and a 5 time delayed STX dump job from 2017 that had 3 different names is somehow the #2 movie in the United States. It's ahead of multiple pricey Netflix Originals. Congrats to AMERICAN RENEGADES!

@toys_retro When I was a kid my dad got me a new fangled slotless race car set. By controlling the speed on the curves you could get the cars to change lanes briefly and pass. It was a blast!

@shannonandswift Feels like Hollywood is transforming into one colossal Zemekis production called GONE.

This is a great way to ensure the next generation of producers and executives never gets to exist. This is the work of entry level jobs. Interns, assistants, lower level execs. This is how you learn, how you develop taste. This is Hollywood sawing at its own neck to save a buck.

We had a great night at the Hollywood Avondale presenting THE THING in 4D. We had a Thing-A-phonic sound setup (concert PA added for extra oomph) and in cinema antics : live huskies, flamethrowers, integrated lighting and atmosphere, The thing itself!
