We GenZ are raising an ungrateful generation who believe we don’t owe anybody anything and can say whatever we want. It’s going to bite us in the behind.

@uxmateja @moski____ Honestly it’s an echo chamber. Nigerian designers tend to believe their own hype easily. As they get the “solid work “ comments the ego gets to their head. Nigeria is a show off culture and that seeps into everything we do.

Why are you guys so obsessed with a fellow designer's feedback? In what world would I tell another designer to rate my work?

Many of the things we argue about in the design community are so trivial that we don’t even realize how much they distract from the real issues affecting the industry. The deeper problem is attitude: pride embedded in how we think and operate, quietly shaping the way we work. And the truth is, too many subpar designers are being carried by skill, while their character holds them back. Some of you simply lack basic decency. You don’t know how to communicate. You don’t know how to receive correction; or even give it. There’s no openness to learning; it’s either your way or the highway. There’s a lack of honesty, of humility, of simple human decency. Stubbornness thrives, even in the presence of clear ignorance. These things may seem small, but they have real consequences. They affect how we land roles, how we retain them, and whether we’re trusted enough to be referred for opportunities. We need to change. We need to do better.

Design Twitter went to war yesterday, and I had a front row seat 😭 Here's everything that happened 🧵 It started innocently. @theboyfalana posted a logo concept for a brand called Snazzy Digital Techspace. Day 3 of his 30-day design challenge. He was proud. The replies were calm. Then he tagged Tina. 😭 @realtinabrown_ | Logo Queen showed up and did not come to play. "This is 0/10" Why? • We are in 2026, not 2010 • Monogram, Low effort • Colours, Dull • Typography? Not working • Presentation? Dated • Mockups? A no. No soft landing. Just a verdict. O pa danu! 🤣

@creativeblaq @realtinabrown_ Nah this is prevalent in this design space and we need to start addressing it. As an influencer your job is to help the next generation of designers. Not make yourself feel good by putting them down.

@realtinabrown_ Enough has already been said about the review I believe everyone expresses themself differently, but we can always consider the other person. Just needed to chip it in

Now that you’ve tagged me, I will drop my opinion. This is 0/10 Why? We are in 2026 not 2010, there are lots of competitors for this brand and this logo won’t help them grow or stand out. Let’s start with the monogram you created, I see the D in negative space but this is just low effort, you could have done better. The colors look so dull The typography doesn’t work Presentation looks like a throwback, not good and the mockups is a no. If you’re just starting, it’s understandable, I wasn’t perfect from my first trial either. How can you get better? 1. Get a proper branding course if you haven’t, so you can learn how to come up with concept, choose the right colors, how to present etc. 2. Follow people that are doing great at it already, learn from what they do. 3. Practice everyday, design daily and you will get better.

Logos speak before you do. I just help you make sure they say the right thing. Day 3 of 30 Logo presentation for Snazzy Digital Techspace

@realtinabrown_ Sorry, but that thing you wrote is not feedback, it’s demoralizing, self-important, and doesn’t even sound like you’re interested in helping the designer. You’re peddling your own NGD trauma unto others.

One of the reasons why I got better at design was because I took feedbacks. While some were dragging NGD on Facebook that year, I wanted to prove a point, every critique, every post disapproval, I go back to get better until I get good feedback and this contributed to my growth. In one year, I went from participating in beginner contests to pro and I won. Where are some of the people complaining about the criticisms today? I won't even lie, those critics hurt but It fueled me to want to do better and that's why I'm here today. It's okay if you want people to pat you on the head but I’m not that person (my community members know this is not me), and I have witnessed people grow fast from getting real feedbacks.. I wish I can tag some of my community members here, see their designs a year ago vs now.. real growth.... And today, they are thanking me. Don’t tag me, avoid me if you don’t like my criticisms, I won’t comment either. We all can’t be the same.

I designed and developed this website using Figma and Wordpress Elementor. I enjoyed working on this one. If you think you can't make custom beautiful websites that have GSAP in Wordpress, you have to check this out. Want to make something beautiful and functional? HMU.

@halfjana I'm thinking a design and development template. I could work on the designs so you can fully focus on building out on Framer if you prefer the building phase. Or Vice versa. I have some interesting interaction examples we can try.
