ENS Lehopoame Palaki of the Tonga Royal Navy of His Majesty’s Armed Forces, along with other Military Officers from other countries were formally recognized for the completion of the U.S. Coast Guard’s premier international course.

British High Commission Nuku'alofa assisted the 🇬🇧Ministry of Defence to facilitate a Psychology of Leadership Course in 🇹🇴. Acting High Commissioner Tina Redshaw presented certificates to mid-level leader participants from GOVT & NGO who all took an active part in the course.

On her first official visit to the Kingdom of Tonga, Ambassador Bërdynaj Shala conveyed to His Majesty the highest esteem and sincere messages of friendship from the President and the Government of the Republic of Kosovo 🇽🇰in🇹🇴

The visiting US Congress-@unfoundation delegation also made a courtesy call on Tonga's Lord Speaker Fatafehi Fakafānua to hear about the priorities of 🇹🇴's Legislative Assembly. The UN, through @UNDP_Pacific, @unwomenpacific, @UNFPAPacific & @UNICEFPacific also briefed Lord Fakafānua on their respective portfolios in Tonga, including a briefing on the UN’s response to the 2022 Hunga Tonga–Hunga Ha'apai eruption #HTHH The team flew out of Tonga last night and began the final leg of their mission in Fiji this morning, after which they fly back to the US.

UN Resident Coordinator, @DirkWagenerUN, touched down in Nuku'alofa 🇹🇴 this weekend to begin his first official mission to Tonga. Mr Wagener will present his credentials to His Majesty King Tupou VI this morning, followed by key meetings with government, civil society and UN staff on the ground in the coming days. Yesterday, Mr Wagener joined colleagues in Pea Village to spend the morning attending Sunday Service.
