This was always going to be the case. Even if it is viable they wouldn't want someone to try and revive it because then it makes Fortnite look like failures for not doing enough for the mode. Gutted to see it go honestly!

Epic Games has shut down hopes that #Fortnite Ballistic could be kept alive ☹️ In a new post, Tim Sweeney explains that the mode currently relies on native code that would have to be maintained by Epic themselves, therefore, they cannot give ownership of the mode to a UEFN developer. In the future, though, UEFN updates will make it possible for developers to, as Sweeney puts it, "do [Ballistic] better than we did." The mode will be removed on April 16.

@fleurmeston We were told there was nothing they could do for my grandma. She had to be on a hospital ward for two days just slowly dying. Her dignity was stripped away from her and she passed away with no family at her side because we couldn’t be there 24/7. Anyone who disagrees is a twat!
