It's been a while since I've seen a hedge fund raise GP/VC funding instead of LP funding. My hedge fund pulled this off 10+ years ago, but that was during the Quantopian era (sad that few remember Quantopian btw - I think they would've thrived with AI today). It's like the Spiderman meme cuz both VCs and HFs invest, just in early vs. post-IPO companies, usually. For a hedge fund to pull off seed funding, there either has to be an exit opportunity (if raising from VCs), an opportunity to invest in the fund (if raising from SFOs), or some crypto token thingy which is over my head lol. It's funny how THAT was my first impression when reading this (vs. everyone else being amazed by the "AI hedge fund" part). @chriskong118 @aaditsh Thanks for tagging me! I'll post separately about why AI hedge funds are starting to finally scale, when it's been talked about for so many years and seen so little success until recently.

Long-haul trucker, futures trader. Spent the last few months using AI to systematize my trading. months of trial and error paying in different groups to dial in a workflow that actually compounds. Some worth it, most not. Would there be interest in a community where I share the prompts + process so you can skip the trial part? Reply if so.

We're hiring a salesperson with market data knowledge. Extremely competitive comp, even compared to your quant job. ;) We're ex-Two Sigma, Flow Traders, Belvedere, Citadel, Tower Research, etc. Fiat-heavy, I don't think we have any ex-crypto folks yet but we're open to it. We've had 0 turnover for the past year+. We're okay with hiring someone with 0 sales experience but w/market data API knowledge, OR market data sales experience at a similar firm. Lmk if interested in learning more.

I'll try a rephrase: Tier 1 firms are extremely efficient. They hire and fire the "right" people for the most part. So when someone "leaves" the firm, chances are they were fired, and for good reasons. So other firms take note of that and might not want to hire them. (Btw this is nothing personal, I have tons of friends who were fired, myself included LOL.)

We're not gonna bend over backwards to be the cheapest company and win over the least-knowledgeable customers, who happen to be the highest-maintenance ones. Someone asked why exchanges don't care about retail customers - it's cuz 100,000 retail customers is equivalent to 1 institutional customer in terms of revenue. So yall should be grateful that some data startups do cater to retail traders (who mostly think data should be free lmao). If data is free why start a data company. How can a data company exist or scale. 🤦‍♀️
