My use of the phrase “being woke up” is the visibility of it all. It’s hard to see that when the campaign is running to celebrate accolades 24/7 for a particular artist. During the battle, there was no set schedule or anything. It was all surprises so there was little to no time for a rollout.

Drake lost the battle. The battle just woke up what many people thought about Drake. Without the bot and industry push to highlight how “great” Drake is 24/7, folks were able to see how many folks really felt about him organically.

If we go back to before Push ups happened, almost everybody media members and rappers picked Drake to win this battle. Like Kendrick might have some bars but it wouldn’t have been enough to stop Drake.
