@_MontyBurnham_ @podoffame Did you really just criticize people for admitting they don't know something or admitting when they are wrong? Yes, that's the definitely the issue with internet discourse today. Good call!

@podoffame We are at this point of the internet….people admittedly saying they are clueless, stupid, wrong, ignorant and dumb…but, here is my opinion and others liking and agreeing with that opinion. This would be a 4 part episode on Seinfeld that people like him would say was a dumb show

This is the equivalent of an NBA fan saying they have no clue who Eric Dickerson was. Or if we want to go baseball, an NBA fan saying they have no clue who Carlton Fisk was. I am surprised to see the number of people in sports who don't know about George Gervin. Pretty big name. Also, I just saw him make a cameo in Marty Supreme, so he has been randomly topical as of late.
Rob Schwarz Jr.@ChiRuxinBGO

I’ll say it… I have no clue who George Gervin is or was in regard to basketball. 🏀 I’m not the biggest NBA fan but I’ve never even heard of him before all of this “Iceman” nonsense. Not sure why the uproar in regards to Caleb Williams attempting to make a business decision that it sounds like Gervin should have attempted before. Williams, his family and his business team owe nothing to Gervin. Go get your paper if you can!

@Tweetso29 @purplebug395708 @vishnunairb @LeBron__legacy DBPM is a measure of defensive production. I never used it to say "this person is a better defensive stopper than this one" but was using it to show Sheppard is a more active defensive playmaker which is literally what the stat is for.

@Tweetso29 @purplebug395708 @vishnunairb @LeBron__legacy Which is why DPBM isn't used as the main tool, If a player has a massive DBPM but a poor "eye test" reputation, it often signals that the player is contributing in ways like rebounding or positioning that casual viewers might be overlooking.

@Tweetso29 @purplebug395708 @vishnunairb @LeBron__legacy Reed Sheppard averages a high number of steals and blocks for a player his size. While Peyton Watson might be the better "lockdown" defender in a real game, he doesn't pile up the specific stats that the DBPM formula uses to calculate impact, allowing Sheppard to be ahead of him

@purplebug395708 @vishnunairb @LeBron__legacy Jokic is Top 4 among centers in defensive win shares, led the NBA in total steals and total deflections over the past five seasons, one of the best defensive rebounders in the NBA, 2nd all time in career DBPM ahead of Rudy Gobert and Draymond green but yea "he's bad defender" 💀

Game 7 of the World Series. Bottom of the 9th, bases are loaded, 2 outs, and your team is up by 1 Barry Bobds is at the plate . You have your choice of any pitcher, of any era in his prime. Who gets the call?

Trump has done and said some awful things. So why do his haters think they need to spread fake posts? Don't people usually do that when they think they don't have enough evidence? 🤔

@NicsHODLN It's a broken social media system where people post fake things like that to create division because they know 98% of their audience will believe it without a second thought.

@ChickenMan3010 The fact of the matter is Tiger Woods is way more of a sex addict than he is an alcoholic. I have a good source that he was profusely jerking off and lost control of his vehicle today. I hope he’s able to buy a self driving tesla

@SlangsOnSports My biggest memory of Curt Ford is the 1987 NLCS where he made a bad play. NBC showed video of Whitey Herzog watching the play and you could see him say, "Goddammit, Curt!"

@preztoRL @BlighttownNIMBY @capybaroness A lot fewer strikeouts and homers then. It was all about putting the ball in play, so a lot fewer pitches. The year before Slim Sallee had 21 wins for the Reds, and had 20 walks and 24 strikeouts -- for the season.

@DaingenKeltoi @EricLuallen @ScottCLandis You literally asked him to share the rule, then complained about the way he shared it with you. Are you also going to complain that he didn't include a handwritten note?

@EricLuallen @ScottCLandis Well, thanks for making me search for something that you knew the location of. As the "radio voice of FSU baseball", do you tell listeners when the first batter is coming to the plate, then remain silent thru the game, so they have to read the box score in the newspaper agate?

Reminder: A ball that hits in fair territory and bounces over a wall is a double in every ballpark in which baseball is played. It is not a “ground rule” as ground rules are rules that apply to unique features in a ballpark. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.
