@PattyMurray Social security is a program intended to be for people saving for their own retirement. Instead Politicians use it as a way to steal from people and then pay them back pennies on the dollar. Do away with it altogether and let us save ourselves.

If you make under $184k, you pay a 12.4% Social Security tax rate. Everything after that cap is exempt from the tax. So if you make $1 million per year, you pay about 2.2%. And it's 0.002% for billionaires. If we lifted the cap, Social Security could be funded for decades.

@DarrigoMelanie Would just be another program our politicians would mismanage and then raise the tax rate claiming they need more

One of the most radicalizing moments of my life was when I learned that they just stop collecting social security taxes on money earned over like $150K. Like you just suddenly keep 3-6% more money on all money over that threshold.
Fuck You I Quit@fuckyouiquit

Every dollar earned below $184,500 a year has a Social Security tax of 12.4%. Everything after that cap is exempt. If we lift this cap on the wealthiest earners, Social Security would be fully funded till 2070. The cap should not exist.

@SenWarren The hard part is that once you wasteful money hungry politicians start a program you completely mismanage it and then after repeatedly screwing it up come back and ask for more a few years later

Today, I'm introducing my wealth tax — and more than 50 members of Congress are joining me. It’s time for the government to start working for American families, not just the ultra-rich.

@SenateBudget That's awesome. We all save for our own retirement. Exactly as it was intended. Might be time to do away with social security altogether considering the government pays us out pennies on the dollar for what we save and you all are too stupid to realize it.

MURRAY: Is it true that people making under $184k pay a 12.4% Social Security tax rate? DAHL: Yes. MURRAY: And the rate for someone making $1 million? DAHL: 2.2%. MURRAY: So, a 12.4% tax for people making less than $184k, but 2.2% for a millionaire or .0002% for billionaires.

@fuckyouiquit Makes sense to cap it at that level or just do away with social security altogether. It is intended to be a system for people to save for their own retirement, not everybody else's retirement. Critical thinking is crucial right now.

The trust funds for Social Security and Medicaid will run out of money in as little as 8 years, a shorter time frame than previously estimated, according to a report issued Wednesday by the programs' trustees. abcnews.link/r5kTy1r

@A_P_Capital It's truly astounding how dumb and misinformed investors can be with DKNG. The news over the past week has been massively bullish, yet when you look online people are writing articles saying DKNG generated 43% of growth from Predictions in Q4 when it didn't exist until 12/19

$DKNG down 7%+ on a bill to ban sports betting on prediction markets. This is a bill they lobbied for lol. They do have a prediction market now, but this takes back a lot of market share from the popular prediction markets. Huge net positive. Should be up 10%+.

The day the Affordable Care Act passed was one of my proudest moments as president, because it meant that millions of Americans would have access to health care, some for the first time. The ACA also prevented insurance companies from denying people with pre-existing conditions coverage, allowed young people under the age of 26 to remain on their parents’ plan, expanded Medicaid, and so much more. But the ACA was always meant to be a first step. We still have to do more to expand access and make health care more affordable for everyone.

I need examples of a US city with at least three pro sports teams where the NHL team is top two in fandom in the city. Boys here said Detroit, DC and Tampa. I think I’ll give them DC and Tampa, but contest Detroit. Some guys said Minnesota, I think Twins are bigger than Wild.

Of cities with the four big sports franchises, is the NHL top two in any city? Most cared about? Of cities with three big sports franchises, is the NHL dead last in all of them? Most cared about My co-worker swears that no hockey franchise is cared about more than NFL, NBA, MLB

BREAKING $HIMS MASSIVE Short attack🚨🚨🚨 Massive shortie attacking right before the bell and the first 30 mins from orderbook. Yet $HIMS is only down ~1%. I expect short interest to break above 50% float very soon. This battle is not one day or 1 week, short sellers are going ALL IN! $HIMS is not a heavy retail stock. This will be super interesting to watch! Not Financial Advice!

BREAKING $HIMS 34,7m Short Vol 🚨🚨🚨 Short Sale Volume (Off-Exchange Provided by FINRA) came out another 34.7m shares or 57.79% of FINRA Total Vol 60,187,885 shares. Another wild day, and $HIMS is up 10%. Short sellers are trapped, we have continuous buying pressure, this will be mad beautiful if we can keep pressure like this for next few days/weeks, where they would have to give up at some point to reduce risk. Not Financial Advice!

Went to a restaurant for my wife's birthday Not because I wanted to but because I didn't want to sleep on the couch again She picked it Nice place Candles on every table The waiter came over and said "can I start you off with something to drink?" I said "what's the markup on wine by the glass versus the bottle?" He said "excuse me?" I said "the Caymus is $42 a glass. There are roughly 5 glasses per bottle. That's $210 per bottle at the table. Retail is $85. What am I paying for?" He said "the experience" I said "the experience of a 147% markup?" My wife said "he'll have a glass of the Caymus" I said "I'll have water" She ordered the bottle I calculated the total cost per sip in my head and took everything I had in me to keep it to myself The entrees arrived My steak was $72 I said "what's the protein weight on this?" The waiter said "I'm not sure" I said "it looks like 10 ounces. That's $7.20 per ounce. USDA Prime ribeye at Costco is $17.99 per pound. That's $1.12 per ounce. You're running a 6x markup on raw protein." My wife put down her fork She said "it's my birthday" I said "and at these margins it's also theirs" She didn't speak for the rest of dinner The dessert was complimentary Best ROI of the night The waiter flipped around the iPad pre-populated at 30% I looked at it Looked at him Slid it to 0% Not because the service was bad Because someone needs to start standing up to the iPad guilt machines My wife grabbed the iPad and changed it to 25% She said "we are not those people" I said "we are now paying a 25% surcharge on a 6x protein markup inside a 147% wine markup" She said "happy birthday to me" I said "you're welcome" I've now been to a therapist, a realtor, a car dealership, a financial advisor, and a restaurant this month My wife has wanted to leave every single one I asked her in the car what she thinks the common denominator is She didn't answer She didn't have to Sent from my iPhone
