We are astonished and so proud of the @UCSHampstead Remove physicists. In the junior physics challenge, there were: 51 gold awards, 27 silver awards and 18 bronze awards. What a lovely note to end the half term on. Well done all, have a lovely & well deserved break!

This week Transitus @UCSHampstead physics students were lucky enough to listen to three talks delivered by PhD students at the Weizmann institute. Students learnt about Bose-Einstein condensates, ion traps and attosecond science. A really interesting afternoon for all!

It was so wonderful to see @UCSHampstead Upper Remove students & new joiners in our A level taster sessions. Ms. Marche particularly enjoyed meeting you all & demonstrating the Reuben’s tube.

Shell students really enjoyed making their own electric speakers today; they’re surprisingly easy to make!

Another big week for enrichment at UCS with the Biology, Chemistry, DT and Physics Enrichment Week. This year's theme ties in with @ScienceWeekUK's theme of 'Growth'. Plenty to keep pupils busy from the Entry (Y7) to Sixth (Y13). Get involved! @UCSEnrichment

Over the next week Lower Remove @UCSHampstead students will be learning how to wire a plug & how a fuse works.

If you’re in the @UCSHampstead Physics department then do take a look at our new display about Sir Roger Penrose (an Old Gower). He won the Nobel prize for physics in 2020 for his revolutionary work on black holes.

Very many congratulations to David, Can & Ryan who have been awarded a “Gold” in Round 1 of the British Physics Olympiad. David & Ryan have also been awarded a “Top Gold” award and are invited to participate in Round 2. All at @UCSHampstead are very proud of their achievements.

Excellent @UCSHampstead shell science club today; over 20 attendees taking part in a bridge building competition. Here is the winning bridge!
