#OTD 1802 @WestPoint_USMA was founded. Marion H. Smoak taught for a time in the Law Dept at West Point & in 1964 ran for a #SouthCarolina Senate seat. His career in public service included several years at the US State Department, & he served as Secretary of State, 1969-1974.
