Kentucky is known for a lot of things that start with a B – basketball, bluegrass, and bourbon! Celebrate National #BourbonHeritageMonth and stop by the Capitol to see the records we have on display!

The @kystatefair is coming up! The fair has been around since 1902. Visit our display in the Capitol to see memories and publications from previous fairs! What memories do you have of the fair? What are you looking forward to this year? See facebook.com/KYStateArchive… for more!

@cdrsalamander @pptsapper @WWATMD @MSNavalist After having visited the battlefield several years ago, I just read Shaara's book on Vicksburg and it agrees with all of the above. I was shocked to realize how short the seige was. 6 weeks? Really? Seems like a pretty quick capitulation as sieges go...

@pptsapper @WWATMD to be celebrated with much gusto again, but it eventually got there. Anyway, that is my top-4. Another son of Mississippi, @MSNavalist may have a few other points about this incredible story that is, sadly, undertold by both sides. BT

Kentuckian 1LT Garlin Conner received the Medal of Honor posthumously today in a ceremony at the White House for his actions in the ETO during WWII. His name has already been inscribed inside the state Capitol. #MOH #WWII
