St Kilda has 10 straight games in Victoria to finish the season. Gold Coast travels six times in the last 11 weeks alone. So yes the Saints are off to Darwin to take on the Nepo Babies, but you can see why the Suns think competitive balance is stuffed. The article here 👇heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/st-k…

99% of AFL fans want nothing but the best for Elijah Hollands ( or any player or fellow human struggling for that matter ) ✔️ 99% of AFL fans want to know why a player with muscle tightness is put on ice, yet one with an elevated HR, zero sleep and Erratic behaviour is not ❌

@maluckyday99 Reporting the incident? The shit ones involved here are Carlton for not looking after their player.

@trollingyallass @tommorris32 @1116sen @7AFL No he hasn't. This needed to be reported on, otherwise it just gets swept under the rug. There needs to be public outcry to ensure those responsible are held to account. Carlton FC and their senior officials have not provided a duty of care and should be held liable.

‘We are having on-going discussions with Carlton and also ensuring Elijah has the relevant support.’ AFL spokesperson Jay Allen. @1116sen @7AFL
Tom Morris@tommorris32

The AFL Players' Association has already had a brief discussion with the AFL regarding last night's Elijah Hollands situation. There will be more in-depth chats today with the league & @CarltonFC as they seek greater understanding of what took place. They are concerned with what played out & how it got to that point. The main priority for the PA, AFL, Blues & Hollands' management is his welfare. More on @1116sen from 6pm tonight. @7AFL

@trollingyallass @tommorris32 @1116sen @7AFL Did Tom send him out on the field when he was clearly in no state to play? Of course not. Direct your anger at those who had control and should have done something.

@simplyjasmina I'd be sacking the Carlton match day officials before Morris. They're the ones who should be in the spotlight.

@marnievinall The situation should have been dealt with before it got to where it has. Senior officials, club doctors, coaches etc have a responsibility for player welfare. They did nothing. Heads should roll.

You can’t in the same breath talk about mental health and how it’s ok to not be ok and make Elijah Hollands the butt of very unsavoury jokes. The vision of him was undeniably concerning and like Voss said, the situation should be treated with sensitivity and care.

@piacetri It needs to be seen. People at the club responsible for him even taking the field need to be held accountable. If it was just hidden away nothing would be done. A professional medical team in charge of these young guys, they need to do much better.

not a huge fan of that footage of elijah hollands being circulated on twitter. shouldn’t have been posted in the first place. not when we know how much afl media can be absolute vultures and kick people if and when they’re down.

@DanielGarb They have a medical team full of sports doctors and trainers. The fact not one of them at the ground or watching the telecast said or did anything is baffling.

@missmwhitton_ Heads need to roll after this. Should never have entered the field, or should have been removed at some point. Don't blame the people commenting on what happened, blame those who could have prevented it.

Monitoring heart rate, didn’t sleep well the night before.. did that not send alarm bells ringing to get him off the ground, or better yet, not play him at all? I’m really disappointed in Carlton.

@PollyPorridge The bigger issue is the team doctors and officials etc who not only let him take the field, but also never removed him.

We saw post after post about how we need a mental health round, yet when a player is clearly going through something they’ve become the butt of the joke and open season for hate.

Carlton gave up the first 6-6-6 free kick of the year with only five minutes on the clock. McGovern had just kicked a goal. The umpires ruled that the Blues didn’t get a wingman in place in time. The league view is that it was a clear infraction @FOXFOOTY

If there aren't sackings after the Elijah Hollands debacle, I'd be shocked. If not seen before the game, clearly someone should have removed him from the match at some point #aflbluespies
