A couple of thoughts on this - Don’t be shy in telling your kids that starting a family was the best thing you ever did even if its hard at times. Don’t stop parenting when they leave the house - help them get a leg up, get a home, and when the grandkids come be involved, help out. Don’t be selfish. Give and you will receive.

@misha_saul I thought having a family and becoming a parent was the best thing I ever did, but when I became a grandparent I realized that grandparenting is the ideal optimum. We have the time, attention, and wisdom to focus on caring for the grandkids differently than busy parents.
