If Elon Musk paid my ultra-millionaire wealth tax, we could pay for child care for all three and four year olds in America.

@jimiuorio Stop giving Social Security to anyone who has NOT paid in..And if you want to reduce my benefits...I want my IRA to be distributed 100% tax free...to compensate for what the government is stealing from me.

There appear to be a number of economists who are tasked with the job of furthering the narrative that U.S. boomers may need to “compromise” on the social security and Medicare benefits we were promised. I know I can speak for many but not all with an answer…no

@jimiuorio Boomer here. Generation Jones. I grew up never believing Social Security would be there when I need it. I never once thought it was to help me in my old age. I ALWAYS thought it would be some soupy icing on my cake.

@Dskamps1 @jimiuorio Your money was spent already. That's the problem. It was a Ponzi scheme from the get go.

we paid into it and would like our money back. Stop fraud, stop sending money to foreign countries, stop giving welfare, etc to non-citizens, stop all the lobbying that allows our elected representatives to become rich with kickbacks from our tax dollars, make non-profit hospitals that pay their execs muti-million dollar salaries for profit so that they must pay taxes, cancel the retirement plan that all elected officials have and put that money towards social security. government is a horrible steward of our money and needs to be put under a microscope.

@richiebee @jimiuorio Sorry but that isn't how Ponzi schemes work. Your money was spent to support those already on SS. Sorry your cohort didn't have the sense to see it and do something about it but the deck of cards is collapsing.

no... The ONLY compromise on the table for me is write me a check for all the money confiscated into the ponzi scheme from the day I received my first paycheck in 1978. I have been working and "contributing" ever since. They don't even need to pay me interest, just give me what I paid in and we are done.

@jimiuorio I'd really like them to compromise on it since it isn't their money they are spending.

Everybody seems to think this is going to be modern day ‘Death Wish’ but it’s almost certainly going to be another ‘Gran Torino’ or ‘Falling Down’ where the premise is superficially RW but the entire movie is about undercutting the RW premise. Best to ignore.

Armie Hammer’s return to acting in racist film ‘CITIZEN VIGILANTE’ has been banned by Germany. Follows a wealthy American in Europe who blames migrants for rising crime — played by an actor accused of sexual assault by several women.

I'm starting to think America isn't one country 🇺🇸 Every time I post, an American replies: "well that's not true in MY state." Taxes? Different. Laws? Different. Roads, schools, even the SNACKS? Different. Is it fair to say the US is basically 50 small countries wearing one big flag? Quote tweet with your state — prove me right or wrong 🙋

It turns out they did just steal our money. 😡 Governor Cox’s ‘24 campaign manager, Matt Lusty, set up a shell non-profit so he could take $2 million in no-bid, direct grant, taxpayer money arranged by Governor Cox. Lusty cashed the checks, did some useless make work, and closed up shop in time for the ‘26 campaign season. A white collar smash and grab operation. All technically “legal“, of course. And a clean get away. Minnesota Somali scammers could lear a thing or two from Utah.

What happened to these guys? They got millions from Utah taxpayers, made a few commercials and have now disappeared. Did they just steal our money? Matt Lusty and his Election Hive campaign business are now really busy working for Blake Moore, so seems like Blake instead of taxpayers and they keep our money.

Yuval Harari was asked what the biggest economic and political question of the coming decades would be. His answer: "What to do with all these useless people." Read that again. He didn't say 'people made redundant by technology.' He didn't say 'workers in transition.' He used the word *useless*. And when asked how those people might find meaning when their labor is no longer needed, his best guess was: "a combination of drugs and computer games." Drugs and computer games. Sedation. That's it. This is not Orwell. This is not the floating-chair dystopia of WALL-E presented as a warning. This is the casual, shrug-shouldered expectation of a man who the global elite listen to. And the most disturbing part? He's not entirely wrong about the trajectory. We already have enormous segments of the population—materially comfortable, technologically saturated—sinking into anxiety, depression, and quiet despair because nothing in their environment is asking anything of them. We have not yet arrived at the world Harari describes. The real question is whether that future is inevitable. I co-wrote a book arguing it is not. But preventing it requires people on the front line—particularly those with resources, capability, and time—to take responsibility for building a different model now, while it's still possible. Drop your email here and I'll let you know when the book is available for order: human-capital.kit.com/e53d52848f
