The GOP really has to stop referencing and celebrating Lincoln. Every single aspect of that man was liberal progressive tyranny and it’s just insane how, in the name of being scared of being called racist, they insist on always associating with him because he nominally was a “Republican”

The court system itself is a humiliation ritual. “The law” is not a thing, it’s just the ethnic grievances of nons playing dress up in robes.

Because a high trust culture that emphasizes respect for law, contracts, and honorable business transactions without reliance on extended family networks allows you to build good cities but provides no moral framework for keeping out hostile and clannish outsiders.

I liked the Dave-Joel debate back in the day for crushing the propositional nation, but I think an interesting steelman debate would be on classical liberalism and postliberalism between @GreeneMan6 and @KaiserLoengramm . I think both are capable of coming forward with good points rather than cheap spectacle.

Many men of my generation did not leave Christianity because they studied themselves out of it. They left because the version of Christianity handed to them was too small to command their lives. It was sentimental, embarrassed, therapeutic, worldly, and weak. It asked nothing great of them. It gave them no banner to fight under, no fathers to imitate, no civilization to inherit, no enemies to name, no duties to shoulder, and no King to obey in public. The church had Christ on the sign, but the world in the pulpit. It spoke in Christian vocabulary while repeating the same moral assumptions that came from the television, the university, the HR department, the algorithm, and the regime.

I say we skip right over arming the moderate English and go straight to the most radical ones we can find

We're banning dodgeball during recess, someone might get hurt. Yeah we really enjoyed dodgeball too. We're banning flirting, because it might make the girls uncomfortable. We're locking you in your room for the next two years. Yes we know you're in no danger from the virus, but we're worried that you'll get us sick. By the way you have to take this needle if you want to leave your room again. Yes, twice. Well there will be boosters too. No, we aren't worried about side effects, that doesn't effect us at all. We're closing the frat houses, because we don't want you having fun without our permission. Please join these officially sanctioned university clubs instead. We're bringing in labor from the third world to work the service jobs, so you can't have a summer job. You need to go to university to get a good job. By the way we're raising the price of tuition. Oh look we're raising it again. Don't worry there are loans. At interest. Actually we're giving the good jobs to the foreigners we just imported, to make up for our racist past. We are very good people. No of course we aren't sacrificing anything. You just have to take one for the team. Also, we're giving the foreigners the houses. We needed to increase real estate prices. For our pensions, you see. Sadly no, you'll probably never be able to afford one yourself. By the way don't forget to pay your taxes. Need to support those pensions somehow! Eh? No, we're giving ourselves tax breaks of course. Seniors discount you know. Oh by the way, that one thing you still have, now that we've banned joy and kicked every ladder out from under you?
