It was a 4th game in the middle for Oscar. He gave a very calm and collected performance, looking the part with clear signals and communication throughout. Steve Crossman provided feedback after the final whistle. Well done Oscar👏

With the clocks having gone forward, midweek fixtures have returned. Yesterday there were a number of @VoGAFL fixtures Earlier this evening, Chris Bowsher was in the middle on a competitive @swwgl fixture between @BarryAthleticFC & @UndyAFCWomen

There were not many junior @VoGAFL games this morning but Tiana was excellent in her U15 game between @BarryTownUnited & @StAthanFC at the Butts. Steve Crossman from our Society had a post match discussion with her after the final whistle. Da iawn Tiana. 👏

I'm looking into the World Cup Qualifiers on Thursday, and Wales v Bosnia Herzegovina should be mental. Give this a read: István Kovács will be the referee, and so far this season he's averaging 5.50 cards per game, but it gets even better. Bosnia Herz are the most yellow carded team in this qualifying campaign, picking up 21 yellows, at an average of 2.63 per90. Bosnia Herz card form: 2, 5, 4, 2, 2, 1, 2, 3. They've also commit the most fouls on average, with a huge 17.40 per game. For context, Wolves have commited the most fouls in the Premier League and average just 13.20. Bosnia Herz have also drawn the most cards from their opponents in qualifying, drawing 27 cards across eight games, including four red cards. Opponents card form: 1, 3, 2, 6, 3, 3, 4, 5 Their opponents have received a red card in four of their eight qualifying games, and the referee averages a red card every 0.33 games this season, which is mental. Kovacs has given out four red cards, in just 12 games this season. Wales are the more disciplined side on paper, averaging 1.50 cards per90, and their opponents averaging 2.00. Their card form reads: 0, 3, 2, 1, 3, 1, 2, 0 But it's worth noting, both of those zeros came in games they completely dominated (7-1 win v N Macedonia and their win v Kazakhstan). When Wales face a proper test, such as the home and away legs against Belgium, they received two and three cards. Everything about this game screams cards, and the bookies have 5+ priced at odds on. 18+, gamble responsibly.

The weather was kind to the @VoGAFL on the weekend as was the level of coverage of Match Officials with all Senior games covered by an appointment referee. Likewise for all u14, u15 and u16 fixtures, bar 1 game in Corntown. This is fantastic and it bucks the trend.

Ref'd @CoganCoroAFC u14s Whites vs Dinas u14s reds this morning. Beautiful day for it and the game was excellent too with Dinas coming away with a narrow 1-2 away win. Players and coaches of both teams were excellent 👌

Unfortunately all grass @VoGAFL matches lost their battle with the weather this weekend. But the hugely popular @ColinLocke73 officiated a well attended fixture at St Cyres 3g between @CadoxtonImpsFC Reserves & @PenarthTownAFC Reserves.

Referees were given the opportunity to listen to @NoelMooney13 who spoke about a wide variety of Welsh Football matters and then took a large number of questions. It was very interesting evening indeed. (2)

6 of our members attended the @SouthWalesFA Referee Winter Seminar in Cardiff yesterday evening. As usual, it was an interesting evening and great to catch up with referees from other Societies. Our Society welcomes the clear message about No Jewellery to be worn by players. (1)

There is no doubt about today's highlight for refereeing in the Vale. Stephen Provis refereed his 1st @VoGAFL Senior Game. His performance was a debut to be extremely proud of and it was well received by players, coaches & spectators alike. Huge congratulations to him 👏⚽
