On a day where #WxmAFC Men and Women were forced to play at the same time, a small band of family and fans travelled to Cardiff and not Charlton to watch the football. What a reward we got as @WrexhamAFCWomen ran out 1-3 winners with some fantastic performances and the scenes at FT were amazing 🙌 Top it off with the Men winning also and it makes for a fantastic day for all Wrexham fans

OTD 1982 Wrexham 1-0 Chelsea On captain Gareth Davies’ 600th appearance, we beat Chelsea in one of the few bright spots of the 81/82 season. Frank Carrodus is pictured celebrating the winner in his 100th game for us. This is the last time we ever played Chelsea competitively.

OTD 1966 ✍️ 60 years ago today, Wrexham signed Steve Stacey for £7,000 from Bristol City. The son of an American GI, Steve was the first ever black player to sign for Wrexham and would go on to be the first player of African-American descent to play in the Football League.

The last time Portsmouth visited Wrexham was nearly 40 years ago for a Littlewoods League Cup tie. Pompey had a great side then, with the likes of Mariner, O’Callaghan and Quinn, and won promotion to Division 1 that season. We signed Kevin Russell from them the following year.
