Australia is heavily reliant on China economically, China is our largest trading partner, and we depend on it as the primary buyer for massive volumes of iron ore and coal. Attempting to create tensions by restricting those exports would backfire and hurt Australia far more than it would China, damaging our economy and jobs in the resources sector. Australia should focus on reducing this over-dependence by strengthening domestic manufacturing and industry, we need to remove ourselves from the Net Zero agenda that limits our energy competitiveness and resource development.
