Now, the UK Covid Inquiry @covidinquiryuk was supposedly meant to uncover how those early decisions were made.
CATA say it has struggled to do so because key emails, advice and records about how expert warnings were delivered were not fully disclosed.

@BehindWards I would think that’d eclipsed by lost tax revenue and increased healthcare costs of those that could’ve avoided long COVID if the air were cleaned, etc

Serious question: has anyone estimated the cost to the UK economy of COVID “hygiene theatre” in retail?
Staff disinfecting trolleys, wiping surfaces, constant mopping- actions that don’t prevent aerosol spread.
Labour, chemicals, damaged goods, slower throughput. Any research?

13/There is no universal perfect air purifier.
The best choice always depends on context and criteria.
My own criteria are: space,noise, watts, CADR and $ cost.
Aesthetics matter much less to me, and I don’t require lab certification because I test machines in my own chamber.

Other than the classroom, could the crowded ED waiting room be the highest risk shared space?
Suggest sitting in the clean air flow coming from the HEPA filter if there is one, and ask for an N95!

Health workers get exposed to viruses much more than others because of their work. It's not hard to understand why, but there has been a major effort to deny this and deny N95s to health workers. "They caught it at home" is said when they get sick or disabled by viruses. 1/2

@loscharlos If Dr Thompson had been correctly told Covid was airborne in early 2020, she’d have worn FFP2, and not have long covid now.

It's good to see Govt giving attention to ventilation. But still the proposed CO2 limit is too high.
Experts have recognised for years that it should be 800ppm.
But the big question is... Where is the funding?
For schools to actually do this.
