@WurzelRoot Yeah.. this shit sucked. I'm from Montreal and getting called up to listen to the boss yap in his quebecois accent made me cringe harder than anything I've seen in a game before or since. Ubisoft really thought it was a good idea to write themselves into the story.

ubisoft can't write a story. i tried to replay black flag a few years ago and forgot you have to sit through 45 minutes of unskippable interactive cutscene with this HR bitch before you can play as a fucking pirate in the pirate game

You know, as funny as it sounds, I notice this when I go to America 🇨🇦🇺🇸 In Canada, I frequently have interactions where: 1. I make eye contact, smile, and say hello/good morning when interacting with a stranger 2. Others hold the door for me & thank me when I hold it for them 3. Have strangers say "sorry" at even the most minor inconvenience, which is always followed up with a "no it's ok!" I was in Florida just last week, and I was shocked at how noticeable the difference was. Hold the door for someone? They won't say thank you, or even look at you. It's kind of jarring Maybe these are just standard Canadian quirks. Or maybe Florida is just not the place to expect this lol Don't take living in a high trust society for granted. Aim to give others a reason to believe we have it everyday 🫂

@Medical_Nemesis Difficult to fathom parents living in fear of their own children, although to your point I personally felt the very real severing of bonds when my siblings feared me for my refusal of pharmaceuticals. A deep and cowardly fear they were unable to confront.

@Medical_Nemesis The admiration may be curious, but it is not surprising that the raising of a murderer occurs in the context of already severed bonds. Such thoughts of violence would otherwise have been dispelled, or the perpetrator convinced to turn themselves in.

A curious phenomenon of admiration of a father revealing his own son to authorities. If we study the no familia structure of The Scientists, it may become clearer how so many autonomous bodies found it easy to lock down. Severing bond between fathers/mothers and children.

One of the tricks done by scientists in the US is extensive manipulation of newborns in hospitals to sever the bond between a mother and her child. Of note is zero acknowledgment that a mother is burying her child. Laws also do not protect mother and child as one.
