A1: Giving open ended questions that allow students to answer in a variety of ways so that they can utilize their strengths is a great way to create opportunity to show skills for students that struggle with traditional ways. #formativechat #UNILited

A3: Connecting their work to the real world can create more motivation and meaning in the students work. Ex: you can bring your classroom to the real world by comparing what you’re teaching to careers and organizations in the community (archeologist, nurse, parks, etc..) ...(1/2)

A2: Authentic assessments are important for students to show their learning b/c they're more meaningful to the student, unlike typical MC & T/F test. They engage the student by giving them more voice! Ex: having the student perform the skills or choosing project #formativechat

@bethhill2829 Q3:Educators could have both one on one and class meetings about what a student’s social emotional development could look like / how to get there. There’s so many different skills a child learns and we can help them understand that they all will at different paces #formativechat

A3: We must continually remind students that self regulation, social skills, soft skills, executive functioning are a work in progress for everyone. Give grace when others slip, but always look to guide the child in restoring any harm, using a different strategy. #formativechat
