6 months ago I opened @framer for the first time. No design school. No agency experience. Just figuring it out. Today my first template is live on the Framer Marketplace. PRVSM is out 🖤 Free ↓ framer.com/marketplace/te…

@Dmytri_Design @framer But if you think about framer like B2B you can be right. If you think like B2C imo you're not.

Hot take on the new @framer Marketplace: A lot of people are worried that no-review publishing will bring in too many low-quality templates. Honestly, who cares? Bad templates won’t sell. People won’t use them. They’ll disappear naturally. Instead of worrying about what others are uploading, just focus on making better work, improving your product, and moving forward. Figma Community works the same way. Open platforms create more competition, but that competition pushes you to get better. Quality will always stand out. Just build better.

@Dmytri_Design @framer It's not true, but we will see how it goes. Did you see wordpress templates or squarespace? People still buying it for much more than normal framer template cost and we can talk about their quality for hours

For me the update itself is okay — more templates can be a good thing too, we’ll see. But the community layout is hard. It’s difficult to choose a template. On the old Framer homepage templates were much easier to find. The new design just feels harder and not really intuitive to me. What I’m curious about: will Framer (not the creators or experts, just Framer as a platform) see a rise, a drop, or a steady number of new users coming in — users as buyers, not as creators?

I don't mean to throw shade. But I genuinely don't understand why people think they're about to lose clients because of the new Framer update. Can someone explain?

One option for the Marketplace could be adding a "Verified by Framer Team" badge — and you'd be able to apply to have your template reviewed and verified to earn that badge. I'm looking for ways to optimize this, because in my honest opinion @framer right now feels built mostly for creators, and not so much for the actual users.

Let's talk about the new @framer marketplace changes. I've given myself some time to think because I didn't want to rush out on the whole "templates are dead" thing like some others are. It's still too early to say how this will unfold, but one thing for sure is that it changes the way us creators need to operate. For years, I've been banging on the drum of building your own audience and distribution channels, and it's for this exact reason. You cannot build a business solely on a distribution channel you don't control. With no more reviews, it means there will be a ton of templates being added to the marketplace every day, both good and bad. The fear most of us share is that the overall quality of the marketplace drops because of the lower barrier to entry. But I get where Framer are coming from on this. Let the market decide what's good and what's not. But this relies heavily on their algorithm (and moderators) and their ability to separate the good from the bad, amongst other ranking factors. So we have to wait and see how well it works over the next few weeks. The concern I have at the moment is more from the customers perspective. The feedback I'm getting is that the discoverability and buying experience on the marketplace is harder than before. You have to dig further to get into categories and the marketplace feels more of an addition to the community rather than it's own thing like before. Maybe it's just because it's a big change and people need to get used to it, let's see. But overall I was a bit taken back by the update, and initially was quite concerned about what this would mean for my business. But I hope with enough feedback, we can get the marketplace to a place where ultimately, it rewards quality and I think that needs to be the end goal. Regardless of what comes into the marketplace whether good or bad, as long as the good is rewarded properly and the bad is moderated efficiently, I think we'll all be happy.

My @framer hackathon entry: MAGDA — a 3D cube portfolio. Each of the six faces is a project. Drag to spin the cube, hover the list to rotate to a specific one, click a face for its case study in a popup. The part I'm most happy with: Framer Agent built the whole 3D core — positioning the faces in 3D space, the rotation physics, the snap-to-front, the popup system. The kind of logic that would've taken me forever by hand, done fast. Then I shaped everything around it — the brand, the type, the motion. Fully editable from the panel too, so it works as a reusable component. magdawolowiec.framer.website

@bynneh @Yousefcopy @framer Exactly. Tbh feeling pretty anxious about this update. On top of the visibility issue, without a quality marketplace, users might just leave and give up exploring at all too…

Framer just quietly ended the template business as you know it. When I started there were maybe 1k @framer templates on the whole marketplace, and with a quality product the hardest part was just getting approved. Now anyone can publish ∞ templates a day with no approval, so we're heading toward 1k a week. When everyone can publish anything, the hard part is just getting noticed. The best designer no longer wins. The designer people actually follow does. That's uncomfortable for a lot of us who just wanted to build, but it's where this is going. Nobody finds you by accident anymore.

@ozenua_ yes, for me it's not about creators - it's about buyers. like for normal person (not into design) who just wants a website it's gonna be hard to even move at framer community. it's hard for me right now tbh haha

@Webilyco IMO, i do think now, more than ever creators are responsible for making sure their templates are at a 100%, also a lot of work for buyers to do some really indepth check before purchasing any templates.

The new Framer Marketplace is live — and so is James Orel 🎉 My dark editorial portfolio template was stuck in the review queue. Now it's out, and it's free. A bold red-on-grey portfolio for photographers, with a floating gallery that reacts to your cursor. Grab it if you want to use it 👇 framer.com/community/mark…

I think that AI slop will take the market very very soon and it’s gonna be thousands of templates, copy of other paid templates etc. I thought that they will do AI reviewer and if you’ll pass AI, next step someone will look into your template. That’s what I thought, clearly I wasn’t right
