An American engineer unveiled a $3,000 device designed to legally disrupt surveillance cameras spreading across U.S. cities. He points directly at Flock systems now embedded nationwide, arguing this kind of tech is necessary as monitoring scales rapidly. Flock operates in over 6,000 communities across 49 states, tied to more than 5,000 law enforcement agencies, with over 80,000 cameras already deployed. Expansion isn’t slowing. New surveillance drones are now entering the same network, pushing this system even further into everyday life. I hadn't really thought about all the counter technologies that will also be built. Very disheartening.
