We'll see if Michael Malone can get things going at #UNC, but I'm already tired of all the bull being spread about the process. People & pundits, who know NOTHING, are trying to create bogus narratives, based on "sources" that aren't real. Stop making stuff up! #bogus #tarheels

Why are #UNC fans panicking about the transfer portal? Players can move at any time after entering the portal. So agents out there should advise players to wait to see what NIL offers manifest. Carolina has the money to compete. Smart players will wait for the coaching hire.

I hold no animosity toward Hubert Davis & wanted him to succeed. But the #NCAA loss to VCU was the straw that broke the camel's back. It was the last mismanaged game at the worst moment, on a huge stage. Now #UNC must nail this hire. #Hoops

Reading Dean Smith's book, one understands why recruiting Charlie Scott in 1967 & integrating the program was so impactful. IMHO Roy Williams, emulating his revered mentor, decided #UNC needed a black coach. After the AFAM scandal, I get it. Too bad Hubert isn't the right guy.

I'm not a fan of the #NCAA transfer portal but will be fascinating to see some of these low/mid major players cash in from big games in the tournament. 2-3 big games can see them get NIL deals worth millions. High majors see player movement too, but PT & coach status are why.

@coachraso @MarchMadnessMBB @NCAA @FIBA Change is never easy, especially when it costs money. Added expense of installing shot clocks & staff to operate is probably a big reason why progress is taking so long. School boards can be cheap & some don't like sports to begin with.

While watching so much @MarchMadnessMBB it accentuates how much I dislike the @NCAA 30s clock vs @FIBA 24s. In the half court it produces a lot of “fake offence” & in the long run cheats the game of multiple possessions.

@Sports_Kings_ I actually favored Stack over Hubert to take over after Roy retired. Had head coach success in the G-league and wasn't bad at Vandy. Remember there was no portal or NIL during his tenure & his teams were not an easy out in the stacked SEC. Just saying, Roy picked the wrong horse.

@AndrewMBraun @KeepingItHeel Also, by consistent NCAA success I mean making at least the Sweet 16 every year, getting to the Final-4 every 5 years or so. And winning a championship within 2 recruiting cycles, which is 8 years. Should never be lower than a 4-seed.

For example, on the last 30 years UCONN is considered to have the most success (6 titles) so some definitions are dependent on time. What I like about UNC is they seem to be more authentic. The program doesn’t feel like a factory

The goal of any team is to be playing its best in March. The final 3 games of this season were anything but that, as #UNC stumbled at the end of conference play, the ACC tourney & the Big Dance. Wilson injury is a lame excuse, as many teams cope with injuries. CHD isn't the guy.

@AndrewMBraun @KeepingItHeel IMHO an elite program has the following: a long standing tradition & history of success. Top-flight facilities, resources & academics. Strong record of grad success, which includes NBA alumni. Be considered a destination school for the top recruits. Consistent NCAA success.

The #UNC crowd is REALLY piling on Hubert Davis after losing to VCU, & rightfully so. For years now I've watched him struggle with managing games. It's a skill he hasn't developed & it's costly. I don't think a coaching change is imminent, but probably should happen.

@KeepingItHeel The reason UNC is better than other elite programs is because we are more authentic. We don’t always win and we aren’t a factory and don’t want to be. We care about character and development.

@GrantHughesNC They need to recruit an elite wing . Haven’t had a wing that can create his own shot since hate to say it mccants . Pj Hairston could of done it but by the time he developed he couldn’t play anymore .

Shaping up to be a very pivotal offseason for #UNC. A semi-promising season undone by injury to Caleb Wilson. Yet, big misses in the portal capped ceiling from the start. Need to go all-in on portal, bookoo bucks for new frontcourt, shooting around Mingo Will the $ be there?

With no freshman phenom I didn't expect much from #UNC in the #ACC tourney. But once again Hubert Davis showed he is a bad game manager as HC. Can't let a deficit grow the way Hubert does. Playing from behind is really hard & he lets his team get into deep holes. Unacceptable.

Hubert Davis is a quality human being & not a terrible coach. That said, I have no confidence he has the chops to win a championship. If #UNC is ok with that, fans should get used to the idea, cuz he's not going anywhere. He just doesn't have what it takes to win a title. #NCAA

@PJWallace10 @UNC_Basketball @WellsFargo Absolutely. But if you can see the perimeter game is struggling, the HC must recognize that and make the necessary adjustments. That didn't happen & under CHD it very rarely does. He's just not a good game coach. That's ok when your talent is superior, but trouble otherwise.

@WilMalley @UNC_Basketball @WellsFargo That I can and will fully agree with. HD does lack controlling the game, making quick/effective personnel changes, and calling a TO to stop the bleeding. My point is it’s basketball 101 if you aren’t hitting outside, move in to see the ball go thru the basket and gain confidence.
