In Art, Y4 have been practising their sketching techniques and observational skills to recreate elements of still life artwork. We can’t wait to create our final piece next week and add watercolour to them 🖼️ ✍️

After learning about Diwali and Hinduism in RE, Y4 loved our experience afternoon 🕉️ we had a carousel of activities and in groups made diya lamps out of clay, created rangoli patterns outside with chalk, tasted Indian snacks and designed our own mehndi!

In writing, Y4 recapped the events of our Journey text. We independently ranked the 5 most important events thinking about the cause and effect. We then held a debate, using build on and challenge to share our justifications using oracy skills. #AYYR @MoonMaddy @3SaintsEnglish

Reception have enjoyed exploring the Rainbow challenges this morning. Our text this week is Owl babies. The children have worked hard creating the story characters out of playdough and creating the story setting in the creative area. 🦉

Today year 1 had a play doh disco! This helps to build the muscles in our fingers and hands which results in some beautiful handwriting in our handwriting practice. Well Done Year 1.

Year 4 loved being involved in a physical represention of part of our digestive system today exploring a journey of food, building on our knowledge from last week. It was a rather disgusting experiment with lots of brave people eager to participate. 👍🏼

Y3 conducted a scientific experiment! They explored how water transports up the stem of the plant. Each group used different length stems to explore and observe changes. 🌿

Y4 ordered significant events in Africa’s history chronologically. After this, we ordered the statements in order of significance, debating the 5 most important events were and written justifications. It was great linking our #AYYR skills to history! 🇧🇯 @the3saints @MoonMaddy

Y4 work, based on our whole school text, The Little Mouse and the Red Wall. We wrote a diary entry from the mouse’s perspective including events and emotions from the text. Our artwork shows opportunities when you overcome barriers, we depicted this using sketching and colour 🖼️
