@Anna_Giaritelli @dcexaminer Lol that piece of paper means they entered the country legally. Later on they just didn’t keep up with the paperwork, that’s made them “illegal.” These ICE guys don’t understand their own job

@RKelanic @BartDePalma Very well-put, though I'll say this: in a failed state it's much easier to just pick the warlord along that Gulf coast and sponsor them. They won't block the waterway because we'll be backing them against the 999 other sides in the Iranian civil war

@BartDePalma Failed states can still attack waterways, like the Houthis in the Red Sea. FWIW Iran has never initiated a conventional war on its neighbors or anyone else. Not because the regime are angels — they aren’t — but because Iran’s leaders are rational and have been deterred.

Blockading Iran will not compel its surrender. After enduring 6 weeks of war, Iran’s leaders won’t suddenly decide, “Oh, we can’t use our ports now. We better meet U.S. demands.” Trump can’t escalate the U.S. out of this mess. The war failed — now it’s time to cut losses. @defpriorities

@RKelanic Iran waged proxy wars against the US through the Taliban, Iraqi Shia militias, Hizbollah, Hamas, Houthis and several small terror groups killing hundreds of Americans. We are decades late in ending these war criminals.

@RKelanic Blockade should be just the start. Reducing Iran to a failed state will deny it the ability to war on its neighbors and build nukes.

@MarcThielke @WarMonitor3 @NewReaganCaucus It can, will, and the whole UN other than us will listen. Because most countries are not so stupid as to believe that China's always trying to start wars without having been in one for many decades. Those islands are far closer to it than us. We're paranoid, entitled

The DC foreign policy elites are sure that Trump’s blockade, on their advice, will coerce China to force Iran to cave. They’ve been pushing variants of this plan with 0 success for decades: squeeze China to force Iran to force Houthis to cave, or to force North Korea to cave etc
WarMonitor🇺🇦🇬🇧@WarMonitor3

China defence ministry has issued a strong warning reinstating that China has an energy agreement with Iran and it ships will not be intercepted.

Clavicular walks out of 60 Minutes interview after being asked if he is an incel and about his relationship with Andrew Tate. Clavicular: “Do I identify as an Incel? I mean, how could you ask me that question as a follow up after you asked me about my relationships to women. I mean, that's quite literally the worst sequence of questions I think I've ever heard.” 60 Minutes: “Let me rephrase then. Looksmaxxing was obviously a term created by the Incel community. How do you feel about being linked to that group.” Clavicular: “I'm not linked to that group in any way. Looksmaxxing is self improvement, right? So it's about potentially even ascending out of that category. So that would be kind of one of the goals is to disassociate from being an incel and overcome that. So that doesn't make sense.” 60 Minutes: “You've been seen with certain people who are from all parts of that world. I mean, just as an example, you've obviously shared company with Andrew Tate and other, dare I say, rather controversial figures. Why do you spend time with people like that?” Clavicular: “I see you want to make this political… I guess you watched the Piers Interview. too bad I didn't have time to look into, you know, anything about potentially, you know who your wife cheated with.” 60 Minutes: “I’m not married Clav.” Clavicular: “So I could teach you about looksmaxxing, and then maybe you could switch that up. Thanks for the time, appreciate the interview.” (youtu.be/CXKCoFz3WRs?si…)

@bucephalus424 Ain't it always the way with the middle class. They try to live like aristocrats after the time when those aristocrats lived large, once something aristocratic has got cheap - maybe so cheap that it only functions with govt subsidization - and is thus no longer aristocratic

@MENAUnleashed Iran is already radicalized. It will fall apart within less than 6 months of this. China will be smart and wait to see what happens. It can buy oil from other countries and wait to see if its previous contracts will be honored later on. It also makes plenty of its own oil

Ceasefire officially failed. Trump is starting a blockade on Iran exactly as expected. By extension, this is a de facto embargo on Chinese imports and exports to Iran and the broader Gulf. We are in WWIII and the war for Taiwan is really around the corner. China now has to choose what do next. I give them max 6 months from today before joining the war. Iran is now at a serious critical juncture. Standstill and resist and change human history literally or regime instability and social unrest lead to deteriorating military capability. Iran will most likely radicalise.

🚨 THIS IS WHAT COMMUNISM LOOKS LIKE: Democrats Are Trying to Stop You From Driving Massachusetts Democrats just proposed a bill to LIMIT how much you can drive your own car — and create a government council to force people onto public transportation instead. They don’t trust you with your own vehicle. They don’t trust you with your own decisions. This is the Democrat agenda: total control over every area of your life — your car, your travel, your energy, your speech, your kids, your money. Republicans MUST unite right now. No matter our disagreements on foreign policy or anything else — the Democrats are dangerous. They are coming for your freedom. Vote like your liberty depends on it… because it does. @bennyjohnson The good news for nearly everyone outside the US, though, is that no longer will Americans be gobbling up as much of the rest of the world's oil all the time at artificially low prices. They'll end up with more oil and development, fewer rectangles of green paper

@bennyjohnson We already controlled the global oil supply. That's why they call it the "petrodollar." That's how we were able to sanction Russian & Iranian oil. We're fucking with the very thing that we controlled, and it's only going to bite us in the ass

Trump Just Pulled Off The Biggest Power Move in Global Economic History… Iran played their last card. Then Trump hit ‘em with the Uno Reverse. Now the deck is reshuffling entirely. Energy will never flow the same way again. With Venezuela’s vast oil reserves under U.S. control and now the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, America now oversees the global oil supply. Countries that want oil must buy from America. This is the Gulf of America, packed with supertankers racing to load up on US oil. Hardest hit? China, who just lost their number 1 and 2 oil exporters in a matter of weeks. Absolute masterclass.
