@fergustp @Greg8535937 @staylorish You’re mashing together three different things and making out they’re one number. Beatrice 2024 was old-contract revenue. AR6/AR7 are new strike prices. £80 to £85 is a 2030 whole-system estimate. Those are not interchangeable. And AR6 onshore was £50.9/MWh, not “about £100”

@fergustp @Greg8535937 @staylorish 4) Nuclear still needs backup for outages and big reserves for a 1.6 GW unit tripping. On a whole-system basis modern wind is cheaper than new nuclear, which is why the UK keeps using CfDs to drive more of it.

Back down to Parliament for an emergency recall to save the British steel industry. This government will act with urgency to save this nationally important industry - as we did over Grangemouth. Other parties sat on their hands when they were in government, but Labour acts.
