So... about starting to post stuff. Here is a custom engine i'm working on inside of Odin with sdl3 and vulkan rendering. i can't take full credit because i did use AI quite a bit in debugging and understanding how to use Vulkan. But i hope to use less and less AI for things....

@chinky365251453 @IntCyberDigest Microsoft is going to care when enterprise drop them and they loose a ton of money because of how unsecure their software is. If microsoft had a proper MSRC response team and paid these people properly it would help everyone. but they don't so why should people bother?

‼️🚨 BREAKING: Another researcher skipped coordinated disclosure entirely and dropped a critical 1-click GitHub token theft in public because he doesn't want to deal with MSRC. In his own words: "I really don't want to deal with MSRC on VSCode bugs." The bug: just clicking a link can hand an attacker a GitHub token that reads AND writes to all your repos, including private ones. It lives in github[.]dev, GitHub's browser-based VSCode editor, which passes the browser an OAuth token that isn't scoped to a single repo. That token can touch everything you can. Researcher Ammar Askar found that VSCode's sandboxed "webviews" leak keyboard events to the main editor. A malicious repo opened via one link can simulate keystrokes, install a local extension that skips VSCode's publisher-trust check, and exfiltrate your token. He published a working proof-of-concept. He says when he reports github[.]dev bugs, GitHub tells him they're out of scope and to go report to MSRC, and a prior VSCode bug he reported was silently fixed with no credit. One commenter summed up the mood: "MSRC has turned into Feedback Hub."

@luseemeow since it seems like this is specifically downloading the shaders its possible your allowed shader cache size is too small so it gets evicted everytime, so whenever you start your pc it re downloads the same cache every time. Disabling shader cache is likely the easiest solution.

@ZoldenGames 😭 i need to learn this kind of black magic... maybe i should look into more gpu side calculations instead of trying to optimize the cpu that much. (i've been trying to make a solar-scale rts like planetary annihilation but 2d pixel art with physics for on and off a year now)

@FlowerCago @EpicNNG but that`s kinda the point why its an issue. it didn't train their skill. if they were the ones implementing the API endpoint to a image gen site and implementing it into the game, that would be the thing training their skill. not letting gpt do all of it

@EpicNNG Hot take, but I think integrating GPT as a mod is pretty cool, though it should end at just being a proof of concept. Just let is stay as another defunct mod that was used to help train their skills.

The design challenge is to make it feel like a natural extension of the game, fully optional, easy to engage with at a small scale, yet capable of deep complexity and automation for players who want to go further! @SiltaYT I'm sure they will add more Materials and Models when its closer to release. They are already basically adding new clothing to terry every other week. Also if you are missing entities you can ask them to be added or add them yourself using Map Addons

My biggest gripe with SBox is Garry doesn't want to use Valve assets in his new source 2 game. It makes it a lot harder to create with the little assets they offer in Sbox. Lack of textures/models/Entities. New modders will struggle to find assets to start their projects.

@LemaitreArmand @garrynewman C# is fairly easy to learn, has lots of nice QOL features and is already used by unity so there is a good chunk of people that know it already. Not sure why your teacher said it isnt meant for games.
