I am trying not to read some of the comments. It’s upsetting and hurtful. In recent months, I have reduced my media exposure and interviews because it’s not nice reading and seeing hateful comments. All I am asking for a bit kindness and compassion and don’t understand why some people can’t be open mind and willing to either show solidarity or at lest not send mean messages on social media. I hope we can all find our humanity and empathy to those struggling to find safety and peace.

Another good evening in Eltham and Chislehurst, this time out in New Eltham speaking to residents. I’ve promised to build on local Conservative success that led to the return of loop services on the Sidcup Line, but continuing to lobby Southeastern to reinstate more services.


This is real. People may not want to hear it. But immigration is the number one issue in this election. The Tories are seen to have failed on it. Labour are not seen to have a coherent policy on it. And many voters now want to make a statement.
